HH,

Funny how thin the line is between love amd hate, isn't it....
BTDT, read the book, watched the movie and have the fuhking t-shirt.....

Hang in there

It is odd.
Half the people to whom I've relayed the story can't believe that she ended things considering how angry she's been since that day. The other half thinks she's nuts to have pushed me away.....I mean, 20 yrs younger, fairly intelligent, witty, considerate, nuts about her and, while I'm not a model, I'm not too tough on the eyes...

It seems I was a tad too enthusiastic while beadblasting them. Now the piston wristpins don't fit snug anymore.... They fall right trough.
Looks like I'll be spending some dough...

Why would anybody beadblast the pistons for re-use?!??
What's wrong with a soak in diesel and follow up with carbcleaner?
The only surface that would be having serious carbon build up is the piston dome.. and at best you can put a scotchbrite on that.. nothing else is required.

It simply doesn't make sense to me, clean a critical engine component with a method that takes away material?? why!?

It's not a frigging huge marine engine from a 1000000 ton tanker with tolerances measured in full milimeters..It's a Porsche engine with tolerances measured in 1/10 of mm's or less.

What if he had taken material off the sides, it might cause a hotspot or wobble inside your (new?) cyllinders.. Or scratch up the cyllinder lining...

I really don't get it. There's no reason to beadblast internal engine parts, at all.

Maybe thats the reason USA has become such a superpower. You are desperately trying to catch up. :)

slodave 10-20-2011 09:53 PM

Anything else you wish to add to that?
