Well, for the first 18 years of my life I was in a Catholic household. Now that I am at college I am free to do as I choose so I haven't been to church in a long time but I still feel connected with the core values that I was raised with. And I do not have the heart to discuss it with my Mom who seems to keep getting more and more devout.

The rejection can feel like a punch to the nuts and the pain can linger just as long or longer. But I would rather take the chance than inflict the pain on myself and never have the opportunity for success.

I was raised catholic as well. They've wronged me, just as they've wronged many many more before me. Unfortunately, unlike most, my southern upbringing kicked in and I'm out for blood....

Sounds like you've got it figured out, now you just have to act.

I know what I must do, but the doing is still hard. Especially when I have other things to worry about in addition to.

If you're worrying about it, you're thinking about it to much......it won't be the end of the world if she says no...

Flieger 04-16-2012 04:36 PM

I was kinda hoping Tweeze would let me know if my plan was a big faux pas.

Max, just do it. One of these days you will look back and go, "what? I spent hours agonizing over asking that ONE girl out? What a waste." Sid is right. Yikes! I just said that out loud! So what if you crash and burn? We all have had to do it. I can't even begin to tell you how many men have broken my heart or punched me in the nuts I don't have. But with each time, I got more experience and know what I'm worth. Joe is right too. Yikes! These experiences are what defines us. Just do it. Don't be an engineer and think too much.

no, it's not. your female friend will know whether or not it would work out with her friend. ask her.

My comment was actually meant in more general terms.

I just don't want to mess up the friendship by asking about me meeting her friend like I was just using her.

Honestly, I think it's a decent idea. But, given my track record, my opinion may not be the best.

OK, good to have input from a lady.

Hence why I wanted to hear from Tweeze. :)

HHI944 04-16-2012 04:40 PM

Ok, again, marry me tweeze.....

HHI944 04-16-2012 04:41 PM

Dammit, that hurts.....

Flieger 04-16-2012 04:42 PM

I just wish life were more like how things in engineering work. Governing equations/principles. You know pretty much what the answer and outcome will be.

slodave 04-16-2012 04:43 PM

Whoohoooo! Refund! I was worried this year. I don't get to see it though.

Flieger 04-16-2012 04:44 PM

Although, the unexpected and mysterious is what keeps things interesting and what keeps me trying to understand and figure out how things work.

Life would be boring if we knew everything that was going to happen.

tweezers74 04-16-2012 04:44 PM

And my guy friends try to ask me about my girlfriends ALL THE TIME. I think it's funny and to tell them right out if they can satisfy the requirements of my friends or not. And then I tell them it's up to them. I'll introduce them but I ain't holding anybody's hands. You have to do the work and I am not responsible for what happens. I won't hate you if you screw over my friend but that means you can't hate my friend if she screws you over. I don't feel used. Hey, you try to meet all the people you can. It's the name of the game. And if I felt used, I would say, get your own women to ask out and leave my friends alone! :D but seriously, doesnt bother me at all!

HHI944 04-16-2012 04:45 PM

Life is unpredictable and it shouldn't be any other way. Take solace in your wins and always find the lesson to be learned from your failure......it may not be immediately evident, but it is always present.
