We are finally getting some much needed rain

porsche4life 04-18-2012 01:30 AM

It probably washed over from here. We are about to float away. After having a record drought last year...

Oh and guess who can't sleep? SmileWavy

Rick V 04-18-2012 01:33 AM

Morning Sid, and thanks for the rain

RKDinOKC 04-18-2012 01:54 AM

Lindsey Racing here in OKC makes 17in Fuchs. They use original Fuchs for the centers, cut them out, and weld or bolt them to 17 inch barrels. They talked about having centers made for both 17 and 18, but it was too costly for the number of wheels they sell.

When I got my first 928, I found it was the same car that I admired for years parked at the bank 1/2 mile from work.

That made me laugh.

I did the folk dancing only because a chick I was dating drug me there as a test to see if I was willing to try things I had never tried. I drug her to a IMSA race at a track in Oklahoma (Hallett) and we spent the night at the track in a rented motor-home. :D

Paul Newman was there racing his Datsun. He was trying hard to be just a regular guy. Shortly after that race is when the press found out he was racing and the movie fans made his racing carrer hell. Danny Ongias was running number 00, I think it was a 935. I will have to dig out the slides I took. I still have the bumper sticker from the event on my old camera case.

Oh, and my date chatted with PL Newman as he was grilling burgers. We brought over our patties and he grilled them for us. She enjoyed that more than I enjoyed the folk dancing. All of that was in about 1979.

Like I wrote a couple days ago re: the comment/advice my college coach gave me: one day, young Max, you will look back at college and think about how much free time you had. Not saying you don't work like a dog as an enginerd. But you have much more free time than you think. You're looking for a semi-date, not to write a doctoral thesis. (Just trying to put it into perspective--not as any sort of discouragement.)

Wanna borrow a cat? Takes care of a couple different problems at once. (As well as feeding the local coyote population. OK, maybe not one of my cats then.)

Dave just get a dog. Any dog will chase away squirrels. Our two dachshunds managed to kill a squirrel in our back yard. It must have been an extra stupid squirrel to get caught by a pair of old dogs.

Get a Jack Russel if you want to be rid of varmintin.....

Just got word that my essay was satisfactory. I got credit for both English composition classes by writing 2 essays and taking one 80 question mult choice tests. Coat less than the text book would have too.

I don't remember if I posted this before or not. It is worth of a repost for hump day even if I did.

I don't know what I hit, but how do I turn off caps lock when I didn't hit caps lock? The default is now all caps, and I have to type with the shift key pressed to allow me to type in lower case.

Noah930 04-18-2012 08:07 AM

Weird, now it's fixed.

Noah930 04-18-2012 08:10 AM

I was trying to type a capital A. So I went for the shift key with my right pinky. I accidentally hit a couple keys at once. Suddenly, it was all caps. Hitting caps lock made no difference. All caps, all the time. At least in WORD. But here on Pelican, hitting the shift key let me type in lower case (with the default being caps). I exited the WORD file I was working on (without saving), and re-entered the file. Same problem. Then I exited the WORD file a second time, and re-opened it...and all is normal once again.

What did I do? How was I supposed to un-do it?
