Now I should have a permit in about 90days unless they find a reason to not issue me one....

Also went and got the under 21 box removed from my drivers license, tomorrow I am turning in my stuff for a passport, after that I should be good to go. :D

Sidney-hopefully no body at the SO reads your posts on here!!!!!!!!!!!SmileWavy

On to any other subject. PLEASE

Yeah, I agree.

Good song.

I like their Something for Everybody album, too.

It was nice to have some blue skies and nice, moderate temperatures today. It is still predicted to rain tomorrow, but Thursday through the weekend looks good. So the farmers market should work out better for me.

I went to pick up a growler of Stone Russian Imperial Stout today and the craft beer place had stone t shirts.....I got one......on the front, it say 'im very bitter and I like it' and the back has the logo/label for their ruination ipa.

dropped the fiat off in van nuys today. the air conditioning is non-op. the compressor was kicking on an off like its supposed to, but was blowing warm air. got a sweet rental....chevy aveo. haha.

drove back up to palmdale afterwards. about an hour ago, the girl from Enterprise rent a car called me to see how i liked the car, and if i had any issues. in a completely deadpan delivery, i said "well, it was fine up to the point that it bursted into flames on the 14. luckily the fire trucks were able to stop it before it started a wild fire." complete silence on the phone for about 10 seconds.

we both started laughing at the same time. her reply was "well, i guess that's normal wear and tear. no worries."

made my day.

also went to Green Flash and Lost Abbey the same day.

hey glen, just for the record...ATC hates photogrammetric missions. ha! i had two guys mapping at 32,000 feet on both of sides of my arrival corridors into every airport in the LA Valleys and Basin yesterday. each mission was 6+30 minutes. kind of felt bad for the guy. on sunday, he wanted to map and he kept wavering from his lines, so we cancelled his mission. i guess his company complained so he came back up on monday to do it. i had to do a lot of coordinating with albuquerque center, making sure that they were slinging guys into him. talk about a headache day. :)

We had to map a road just off the end of the runway at Love field in Dallas. Love is fairly easy to work with. Last year we had to map part of DFW. I thought our pilot was going to cry when we showed him the flight path. Fortunately the final customer was the FAA and they shook the tree from the top down. We still had to make two deployments to shoot it because they would not let up finish a flight line. We fly the FAA campus every other year. We have flown many military bases for the base planners.

Embraer 04-24-2012 07:16 PM

we do what we can to help the guys out. we get the briefing, and a map of their (intended) route. if they stick to the route, we're fine. we can plan for that. but when they decide to make adjustments, it makes us go crazy. the funny thing is...pilots think that we're in charge. most controllers think the pilot is in charge. since ive been on both sides of the scope, i tend to be a little more forthright with expectations of the pilot.

GH85Carrera 04-24-2012 07:17 PM

We just flew most of the Dallas Fort worth area. We flew at altitudes so that we did not even talk to ATC. If we talk they want us to break flight lines.

I've heard the grub at stone is excellent. Being on the right hand coast, I just get their beer and it is all superb. Ruination is my go to, but arrogant bastard, double bastard, oaked bastard and sublimely self righteous are in my fridge with fair regularity. Last years Russian Imperial Stout Belgo Anise was insane.

Embraer 04-24-2012 07:19 PM

what ive noticed (from pilot experience) is that LA Center is EXTREMELY easy to deal with. we pretty much allow anything to go, so long as not safety is directly compromised. we work so much military traffic that we tend to let pilots do their own thing. just more of a laid back feel here. Centers east of the mississippi would never allow that kind of stuff to go on.

HHI944 04-24-2012 07:19 PM

And I have a good stock of the 11-11-11 vertical epic ale in my cellar waiting for the 12-12-12 maturation date.

DFW is just a horrible place to deal with. We fly all sorts of airports and none are as bad as them. Air Force Bases are easy to deal with. We have one job right now for Ft. Sill and they have yet to let us fly that.

HHI944 04-24-2012 07:25 PM

Lost coast isn't as readily available here, but I have had some of their stuff and it is very good.
