My mom threw cold water on me once. That sucked.

Rick V 08-08-2012 01:43 AM

You got up I'll bet

tweezers74 08-08-2012 01:43 AM

Ha ha! Fair enough. Granted, I have to say there are several things that wake me up rather nicely without coercion. Like the smell of bacon cooking, amongst other things...

Oh, hell no! And let her win?!? I had endured the HS hazing rituals (baseball) by then. She was really pissed when I finally did get up. :D I visit with my parents a lot, but my mother and I can never live under the same roof again (family vacations excepted). :D

First day of school! What! That really sucks!

Rick V 08-08-2012 01:51 AM

That sounds like my dad and I, we get along great and are best friends but only since I moved out a few hundred years ago

Naw, school doesn't suck until about third grade, when you realize you have a looooooooooooooooong way to go.

Jim Richards 08-08-2012 02:01 AM

That depends on whether or not there was a hottie girl you couldn't see all summer.

As a kid growing up I got up last. All of our houses only had one bathroom. Since I was the youngest I got pushed to the back of the pack. My older brother was in charge of waking me up when the bathroom was finally available. His favorite trick was to take our 50 lb English Bulldog out into the rain and get him all fired up with a ball and than throw the ball on my bed. I woke up to a wet blob of dog toenails and slobber bouncing on me looking for the ball. It will wake a kid right up.

For me it was always a new school, new kids to meet. Trying to find my way around in a new school with no friends the first few days was the hard part. I remember in 6th grade I rode my bike to school and did the ritual of go to the principle's office and report in. They did not have any records about me. I had to sit in his office during all the school orientation all the other new 6th grade kids got to see. Once they discovered my dad was Air Force I was a super star to the administration. They saw the big federal tax money the Air Force pays to each school for my education. It was usually way more than any other local student. They would give me a letter for my parents to sign and bug me endlessly until they had it. I did not understand that until many years later. All I knew is I missed all the instructions on going to classes and all the stuff all the other kids knew because their siblings went to the same school. I recovered quickly and fit right in within a week. That fist few days was rough.

That was the year my dad was TDY in Korea so we did not see him except for two days in a year and a half.

LOL! at least it would quick.....

there isn't a girl hot enough to make me want to sit in elementary, jr high, or high school. those places just sucked for me.

GH85Carrera 08-08-2012 07:40 AM

I just talked to Richard. He may get to go home today.

I know he wants to get the heck outta there.

Oh, there were a number of girls scatter across all those school years that I always wanted to see. I think I first started to find girls interesting back in 2nd or 3rd grade.

Oh man. girls had bad cooties until 4th or 5th grade.

Jim Richards 08-08-2012 07:51 AM

I was cooties-resistant at an earlier age.

oh, i was interested. just not enough to want to sit through that torture.

Jim Richards 08-08-2012 07:56 AM

d, I found school easy and the girls very interesting.

Hey Tweeze, Azzy, how did you girls ever get rid of those pesky cooties?

nynor 08-08-2012 08:00 AM

school wasn't hard. it just sucked. YMMV.

tweezers74 08-08-2012 08:15 AM

Jim, what are you talking about? I started the cootie epidemic. I remember playing kissing tag in first grade where you chased the boys and kissed whatever part you got a hold of. You know, to give them cooties. For me, it was mostly legs since I bamboozled them when they would climb up the slides. They never seemed to learn that was my strategy.

nynor 08-08-2012 08:22 AM

we'd have gotten along well, tweeze.
