One of the schools I went to was beyond suckage. Waipahu middle school was by far the worst. I was 50% of the haole attendance. Every single day I had some sort of torment from the local mokes. On Friday it was even worse. Friday is kill haole day. Only one teacher on the campus would help me. The rest did not care. I as a skinny runt but even Chuck Norris can't whip a entire school of upper class-men. It was a horrible year.

My parents were of the generation that you solved your own problems. They did not want to hear about it.

The one great advantages of the 15 inch wheels is cheap tires. I bought new tires for my trip to Utah. The 4 tires delivered to my door was under $350.

i lucked out on these tires... $350, locally, new, still stickered. they were on my shortlist of tires to buy on discounttires.com, but they were discontinued by the time i finished my research (about $600 from discount). then i lucked on the ad, locally, in the exact sizes i wanted. i could not believe it. 225/50/17 up front, 255/40/177 rears, fuzion ZRi. then, the local shop mounted them for $50 total!!! i stopped by today to thank them.

i am totally impressed after my one test ride. so much quieter than the BFG g-sports, night and day difference. good grip, but it is hard to tell as i think they still have the slippery new tire stuff on them. the car doesn't seem to be going as fast because they are so smooth and quiet. i got myself in a spot of overspeed trouble. :) i misjudged my speed (105MPH getting on the freeway) had to hit the brakes hard.... the back got a bit loose... :D

i guess i should go clean the garage. damn its hot. 99F. i was dripping sweat changing the tires.

GH85Carrera 08-08-2012 11:42 AM

My old tires were virtually gone in the rear. I was amazed how even the wear was considering most of it was autocross or track wear. The fronts had more miles left but that tire was not available so my only choice was a new set of 4.

It looks like you got your money out of that set.

Phfffftttt

99 is nice. That is 14 degrees cooler than last week here. It is still cool here today. That funny water stuff that fell from the sky last night brought cooler temps.

They really were showing video on TV of that stuff falling from the sky. It was amazing.

yeah, i did. they were torn up from autocrossing and simply being on my car with me driving. i drive that 951 like it is stolen....

edit: i forgot to mention that the A-arms were shot and i drove with those fronts like that for a long time. i am sure that is part of why they are so trashed. also, the camber is set for autocross, so the outsides where really fast.

nynor 08-08-2012 01:44 PM

tire size correction: the fronts are 225/45/17.

Figured out where I'm exploring this year (roughly traced it in dark green on this map)

I'm guesstimating somewhere between 5-6000 km.

nynor 08-08-2012 02:58 PM

Yeah, should be fun. We'll be on the move most days and doing somewhere between 50 and 300km per day. Some days may be a bit longer, and each week we'll give ourselves a couple of days rest. Mostly bush (free) camping.

If the pie smells good, usually means it'll taste good :D I make up recipes all the time, Problem is I never write anything down. Sometimes I'll make something that is really really good, and the next time I try to do it again it turns out just okay instead.
