Wow
Hope he came out of that alright.

Interesting results. The Hyundai is a drift car. Dumas I think was a GT3-R. The motorcycles are right up there. Monster's electric motor burned up and he DNF'ed.

I saw this on ESPN last night. It is pretty good since they are at Watkins Glen. :)

hey left turns and rights as well.

Flieger 08-13-2012 04:53 PM

Those things sure slide around a lot. It does not look like they handle all those turns very well. It is almost like the track was wet or oily or something.

I wonder what kind of Ducatis those were at Pikes Peak? Maybe 1199 Panigales?

OK, I am an idiot.

I got an email in my Rebel Racing account that looked legitimate, and after talking with Clint he apparently sold something to this company. It was something like GarageTechnik and was based in Germany. I went to visit their site from the link in the email and the site loaded slowly. I thought maybe it was just the German server?

Anyway, I went back to Pelican about 30 seconds after replying and then this message pops up from this program that had icons like those used in Vista for security stuff. It was a rogue antivirus program.

It shut down all my programs and I thought I had no internet but IE would work (Firefox would not). I googled the problem and got some instructions about F8 boot into safe mode with network access. I then downloaded (and paid for) PC Tools Spyware Doctor since AVG would not download in Safe Mode and I could not download/run stuff in normal mode. It appears to be vanquished now, but the computer is running slower because of the antivirus program.

Max, break down and BUY a real anti-virus program. The free stuff is OK for most stuff. Once and a while the bad pookie tries to slip in. I use Norton 360. It is a memory pig. But it stops everything, everytime. Just buy more memory.

Bzzzt! Wrong answer. :) The "Win antivirus" series, the one Max got, will bypass any antivirus program. There is not one program that can stop virus/malware/whatever 100% of the time.

I did buy PC Tools Spyware Blocker. $30 for a year. Not too bad for ridding myself of the virus in only a few minutes.

I can't get more memory on this computer. It is maxed out. Plus it is DDR2 and now they are DDR3.

But they can still remove it, though - ?

slodave 08-13-2012 05:16 PM

Not always.

MSE from Microsoft is actually pretty good, free, and doesn't use much RAM.

slodave 08-13-2012 05:20 PM

Off to the park to try and work through this pinched nerve.

Flieger 08-13-2012 05:20 PM

My Dad used Spyware Doctor for a while but I think he did not like the system slow down and now he uses AVG and Malware Bytes. But those would not instal in safe mode, and if I was in normal mode they would not be allowed to run - the virus would stop them.

Mrs. Carrera had some more errands for me. I had to get her a gallon of milk. Dang, 4 bucks a gallon. Then we went to fill up her car. She wanted a full tank of gas so it would last until I am walking again. I don't think she has ever had to pump her own gas in 18,000 miles of driving in her current car. Yep, four years of driving and she is up to 18K miles.

I figured I need all the brownie points I can get now to before I become a big time gimp.

$4.19 for the cheap gasoline in SLO. More if you go to the station just a few miles away. Not sure what milk costs.
