What was his explaination? I've seen those B-17 bombing raid movies before.

I restarted my computer about an hour and a half ago and it was running really, really slow. I thought the antivirus program was still scanning- it had a sceduled abbreviated scan at 11 but it was done and the slowdown continued. I have now turned it off. I got fed up with the slowdown already.

Flieger 08-13-2012 10:49 PM

Much faster now. :)

Flieger 08-13-2012 10:59 PM

So Jeff, is it yours or Sharyn's birthday?

Flieger 08-13-2012 11:04 PM

I guess it is yours. There are a few people saying it is yours and only one it looks like that thinks it is your wife's. ;)

I just had a great chat with my son.

Dave, my son works at Ayers Rock Resort, he takes astronomy tours at night (only been doing it for a few weeks) - says he's having a ball. Anyway, he was telling me about an iPhone/iPad app called Star Walk. He says it's a pretty good one. Thought you may be interested in it.

I'll look into it. My friend has a Google sky map for his Android, that was pretty cool! Hold it up to the sky and it shows you what's where, rotate and it moves. It's not for the iPhone. :(

Outback Porsche 08-13-2012 11:36 PM

Looking at their little vid, it sounds similar to the android app

slodave 08-13-2012 11:39 PM

Grabbing it now.

gunna go get 'gussied up' (as the Tweez would say) for dinner. Sharyn's taking me out to a local steak house.

The Overlanders Steakhouse - Alice Springs - Northern Territory - Home

It's been a few years since I was last at this place. I found my key to their wine celler when we moved six months ago. Gunna bring the key and pick out something nice tonight.

Sweet! It's like I'm looking at all the stars and stuff from inside my house! I see you ISS! :D

slodave 08-13-2012 11:47 PM

Outback Porsche 08-13-2012 11:47 PM

It's a bit of a tourist trap - Oz themed steakhouse! - I though all steak houses in Oz are Oz themed? :D

Good food but

Outback Porsche 08-13-2012 11:50 PM

Oh, I get it.... my house...yes....that's every other night ;)

Outback Porsche 08-13-2012 11:52 PM

I've got a 3 kg lump of Rib-eye in my beer fridge waiting for me to butcher into steaks. About what time ......Thursday.....should I throw a steak on for you Dave?

Outback Porsche 08-13-2012 11:57 PM

Really got to go. Hooroo

slodave 08-13-2012 11:58 PM

How much more time before your wife is ready? ;)

We are up extra super early. My wife is in charge of getting us up and to the hospital at 5:30. She decided to set the alarm for 4:00. The hospital is about 10 minutes away. So now we can wait at home for 45 minutes before going to the hospital to wait for a couple of hours.

When in 7th Grade (1972) I was put in 9th grade band. The resulting change in my schedule put me the slow Geography class instead of the advanced. Every Friday the "grade challenged" class would watch movies. We specifically tried to pick out editing mistakes. If you look there are lots of things in the b movie westerns like contrails, tire tracks, phone/power lines, etc. We especially liked the ones where you could see the guy that got shot off his horse fall and roll into a dead man's box and toss the dummy out to get trampled.
