Morning Rick, you going in late again?

Rick V 08-15-2012 05:54 AM

Nope, I am off today.

Outback Porsche 08-15-2012 05:59 AM

Got that call today, The sheet metal workshop can do my bullbar on Friday morning - just in time for my departure.

Had dinner tonight with all the players. One party has had to drop out -maybe, they still may meet us somewhere in the middle of the adventure. They run their own plumbing business and a project they have going just turned to custard. It's gunna tie them down for a couple of weeks. bummer.

Make sure you pack some duct tape.

GH85Carrera 08-15-2012 06:04 AM

The Dr. Just came it. I asked about the old hip. He said all the cartlidge was gone, it was bone rubbing on bone. He said a lot of red fluid came out of the socket. He said that is just the irritation. He said it was obvious I was in a lot of pain. Next up is PT :( that will not be fun but it is the next step to recovery.

Rick V 08-15-2012 06:06 AM

Do you get to keep the old one?

Outback Porsche 08-15-2012 06:07 AM

Push through the PT Glen, it'll be worth it in the long run. 3 weeks after I had my ankle de-spurred, I was playing tennis again - not quite the same as getting a hip replacement but similar in that the PT helped me recover quickly.

I did catch an addiction to the pain meds, so while they help a lot they are a bit spooky. Be wary of 'em.

Pain killer addiction is a nasty thing

Outback Porsche 08-15-2012 06:22 AM

Yeah, they sent me home with methadone pills - wtf!

Rick V 08-15-2012 06:22 AM

Beth and percocet is all I am going to say

Outback Porsche 08-15-2012 06:33 AM

And when I had my first gall bladder attack, once the pain subsided the idiots in ED said 'oh, you can go home now' - I was maxed dosed with IV morphine.

I had driven there on my own and now they just released me to drive myself home. In the state I was in I had no ability to think rationally. I just got in my car and off I went.

The only saving grace for the rest of the road users was that it was 4 in the morning - although I was almost home and nodding off before it even occurred to me that perhaps I shouldn't be driving.

Rick V 08-15-2012 06:53 AM

I guess they figured as long as you weren't trying to decipher the mating call of a rutabaga you were okay

Outback Porsche 08-15-2012 07:00 AM

hehe. what does that sound like?

I think I've got to go to bed. Gunna go play with my chain saw tomorrow - that'll be fun :D

Night

I for sure don't need an addiction to pills. I have left over pain meds from dental surgery 10 years ago. I figure they are weak, but not poison. In all those years I still have over half of them.

Rick V 08-15-2012 09:42 AM

When I had those root canals and posts put in a few years ago, I refused the scrip from the dentist for any painkillers. I actually didn't need them but never took them in the first place.

GH85Carrera 08-15-2012 09:59 AM

Yea, my posts for crowns were not bad pain wise. This level of pain is a different animal. On the old 1 to 10 scale it is about 6 or 7 when the meds are working.

Rick V 08-15-2012 10:01 AM

I imagine there is a fair amount of pain. But just think how it will feel when it stops hurting
