D,

AC work is pretty easy if it is just the mechanical side. If you have gauges and a vacuum pump it is simple. You can rent a vacuum pump from AutoZone or a local FLAPS if you don't have one.

If it is something in the dashboard it might be a bigger pain.

The compressor on my Elky died this spring. "While I was in there" I replaced two of the hoses since thay were 26 years and had 308,000 miles. I took the old hoses to a local AC shop and they used my ends and replaced the rubber hoses. That was only 45 bucks. The compressor was a couple hundred. I flushed the system, and pulled the vacuum. Since I have a nitrogen system I pressurized the system to 250 PSI vacuumed, and charged. I can't imagine driving in 112 degree heat without AC. Heck I can't imagine driving in 80 degree heat without AC.

Even if all you do is the mechanical parts and take it somewhere for the vacuum and charge it will save you some money.

First half of my FAA medical renewal done. What a relief. Now the paperwork is off to the chief medical examiner for review.

there is a leak somewhere and i am sure the compre$$or needs to be swapped. i can deal with the heat up to about 90F. beyond that....

G'day all

Looks like that thread I started with the water polo girls has gone up 5hit creek. Funny what different people see. All I saw was a bunch of back bosoms on display, and two blokes missing it all.
