Wait, the gig is for 10/19? There's more than enough time to find a replacement. Full or part time.

Needs to have 30 mins of music. Not there and have teach new drummer the songs. Better to wait.

I seem to take after my mom's side of the family in many ways and the men on that side never lived to be too old from what I understand.

Getting old sucks but it sure beats the alternative. It all comes down to overall health of mind and body. The man that started our company took early retirement at age 92. He was still a licensed pilot. He flew a lot of different airplanes over 60 years. He never had a incident that damaged the airplane or had an in flight emergency. He is 97 now and still drives and looks like he is in his 70s. I wanna be that healthy in my 70s.

Max, read over and over and over. As I have gotten older, I have taken more risks because I don't give a crap anymore. I would rather be embarrassed/sad, whatever for a little while than to have regret.

David, sorry to hear about the gig. That sucks. :(

Flieger 10-04-2012 07:42 PM

It is easy to recognize those situations after the fact. But how do you know when you are living it for the first time?

HHI944 10-04-2012 07:42 PM

Left the house a 0900.........it's 2340 now and I just got back in, changed clothes, popped the top on a Stone Ruination and it's time for bed..........bayonet came in the mail today though :)

HHI944 10-04-2012 07:43 PM

I've got another knife coming either tomorrow or Saturday too! And a shipment of stogies due Saturday, just in time to get some serious fishing done!!!!!!!!!

Listen to the old folks telling you it is the said situation. :)

Flieger 10-04-2012 07:46 PM

I tend to relive embarassing/sad moments. So for me it doesn't last only a short while, the pain or self-loathing stays with me. Regret is a more comfortable feeling of numbness.

tweezers74 10-04-2012 07:50 PM

You are a strange little bird, Max. ;)

Flieger 10-04-2012 07:52 PM

I won't disagree.

I just keep on distracting myself with other stuff and go on my way. :)

It's human nature to relive those moments. :)

"Too often we are scared.
Scared of what we might not be able to do.
Scared of what people might think if we tried.
We let our fears stand in the way of our hopes.
We say no when we want to say yes.
We sit quietly when we want to scream.
And we shout with the others
when we should keep our mouths shut.
Why?
After all,
we do only go around once.
There's really no time to be afraid.
So stop.
Try something you're never tried.
Risk it.
Enter a triathlon.
Wrist a letter to the editor.
Demand a raise.
Call winners at the toughest court.
Throw away your television.
Bicycle across the United States.
Try bobsledding.
Try anything.
Speak out against the designated hitter.
Travel to a country where you don't speak the language.
Patent something.
Call her.
You have nothing to lose.
And everything
everything
everything to gain."

-Barry Sanders

'Course, it helps when you're supernaturally gifted at something, as Barry was.

Flieger 10-04-2012 07:53 PM

For the most part, the things I regret most are the things I did do and realized I should not have.

Flieger 10-04-2012 07:55 PM

cycling across the US and bobsledding sound fun. I'm working on the patent...
