Night Dave, Have fun

RKDinOKC 01-29-2013 01:47 AM

Nope, a real redneck woulda used Bailin' Wiar. You know, that wiar that don't have no insolation on it.
And ya use either yer Duck Tape or yer Bailin' Wiar, not both That there is some serious over kill.

Are them Tony Lama? I ain't never seen no boots such a bright red.
Why them are redder than the porch light on a cat house.

88!

In this case, the duct tape is for "water proofing". Without, the snow will still get in, melt and I end up with a cold, wet foot.

Rick V 01-29-2013 02:09 AM

You could have used HondaBond in place of the nascar tape. :)

If I was looking to relocate for cheap housing and warm weather...I would probably go back to Vegas. Housing prices are still 50 to 60% off the peak. Most folks think of the strip when they think of Vegas...but out in the nice suburbs...you would never know it existed 30 minutes away...but the world class restaurants and entertainment are only 15-20 min away. You can get an almost new 3500 sq ft home with a 3 car garage for around 300K in a good school district...maybe with a pool and palm trees. $120k will get you a lot if house.

Janet, that thread about you was totally out of bounds. Please don't think that is normal. It is good you are tough. Welcome to this thread.
Yea thanks to him I had to turn of fb allowing people to search for me. Clearly he's Internet stalked before :). I don't mind adding fb friends from here but, it's, a little violating having someone take it upon themselves. I get its the Internet but I still have some basic responsibility not to be a jerk.
I digress, it's done.
How about a cup of coffee... Or 4? :)

fintstone 01-29-2013 04:20 AM

Janet
Sorry as well. I tried to warn you about wankers...but was starting to sound like a cross between a buzzkill and a dirty old man...So decided to not push it too far. Glad you are sticking around.

azzarule 01-29-2013 04:25 AM

Note to self, check FB security!!

just thought I would post this 'cause I like Kombi's, and this should do it if the white stuff comes again.

I haven't given much consideration to using FB. The forums that I actively participate on, and email/texting seem to work well enough for me.

David, our alarm goes off at 6:00 AM on workdays. I usually get to work at 7:00 to 7:10 even with our office hours as 7:30 to 4:30.

Good morning folks.

Good morning folks.

Good morning Glen.

We're up at 4:55AM here. I walk the dog for ~ 1/2 hour, feed her, make my breakfast, surf the web, get cleaned up & dressed for w***, walk (sometimes catch the bus) to the office, arriving ~ 7:45AM. Weekends we practice being on a retirement schedule. :D

azzarule 01-29-2013 05:28 AM

Morning Jim, Glen, Redturbo,

glad you all liked it, cool eh. My 14 year old wants a Kombi when he gets his license, and have a friend in Oz who has a shiit load of old Kombis but not too many splittys available these days. Will have to keep an eye out.

I hope they upgraded the engine "while they were in there." Those things were underpowered on level asphalt with rubber tires. It would a challenge going up a steep hill in deep snow with tracks with 40 HP.

My brother has a 1972 Camper. He has had it since 1974. People want to buy it all the time. There is just no way to replace it so he will not sell it. His daily driver is a 1954 Bug.

Yeah, I think the midwest, plains states, and the desert southwest offer good value. You just pick the climate you like best, assuming the work opportunities are there.

edit: I can't imagine what $120k could buy near either of our homes. Maybe a boat slip at the National Harbor. You provide the boat.

My wife wants a late model Vanagon Westy. Maybe when we finally pull the trigger on retirement.

I was digging through some of my old pictures and found my Hershey PA trip.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1359466960.jpg

That was about the hottest autocross ever. And I have been to some hot autocrosses. After my runs I worked a corner for most of the afternoon. I bet I drank 15 bottles of water and never had to pee once.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1359467117.jpg

This was on the parade through Hershey. That was a fun trip, back in 2005.
