I would love to live in Hawaii. I think I would be ok there because I look like a native. I wouldn't mind living in a shack because I would be either surfing, hiking, or eating. I have heard that from other friends though. They lived there and got the haole treatment and couldn't stand it anymore. My cousin and another good friend live there and love it. I love the food and the ocean. I would consider it when the boys grew up. And supposedly, healthcare jobs are plentiful.

NOT GONNA HAPPEN! We have a pickup truck there, but I sure as hell ain't gonna buy another vehicle just so I can have their bloody insurance. Grrrrr, I really hate insurance companies. Just a legalized protection racket.

I need to try some other collector car company.

Yep Jim that's the answer I got from Hagerty's, they wanted us to have two everyday drivers, to get marilyn insured, I told them I already have four other cars back in Oz, and didn't intend getting anymore, tried telling them that the Hubby rides a bike, but no they wanted two other daily drivers and even a motorbike doesn't count, wtf. So that's why I have progressive. Couldn't get any other collector car insurance.

Insurance here, as I know I have said before, is astronomically expensive compared to Oz.

Ok moving now. Off to drop the rock star at school and head to work.

The Hawaiians don't care much for Japanese. I know you are not Japanese but they likeyl will not care. I can see their point. They have a very accurate saying. "Before the white man you had the bible and we owned our land, now we have the bible and you own our land."

The treatment of the native population was typical and rotten. I can see why they have their attitude.

I just got a quote from Grundy. They require each driver to have a regular-use car, but they didn't say that they had to be co-located with the Porsche. So, we have our DD in DC, and our pickup in CA. Also, their quote was a lot better than Hagerty. I may try one or two other companies before I decide on moving forward with this plan.

My insurance company is American National. They have a collector car program for cars over 25 years old that are not driven daily. Since I have a daily driver and my wife has a car my 911 qualifies. It is only insured for the two of us. I can't loan the car to anyone (as if) and I can't drive it to work more than a few times a year. I can go on a long vacation drive with no restrictions. I pay just $200 per year for agreed on value. If the car is totaled or stolen I know exactly what I will get. I can buy another nice Carrera for that.

When I was on Oahu, they treated me very nicely. I was there for work. They didn't treat my coworker the same. It was weird because it was like reverse discrimination. Any way, I don't know if they thought I was Japanese or not but they treated me nicely. My friend who was born and raise in Hawaii said I would blend in fine. Who knows? My cousin says she is treated fine. She does say it bothers her how the white folk are treated there. :(

My papa is this short little dark Hawaiian guy(he's my mom's step dad so no blood relation) he goes home all the time but, I've never been.

Plumber has been, he was about 80 years old, Richard, from Virginia, lovely guy. Lovely accent, fixed the shower, new plumbers putty on the join around the grate, iffin I had known it was as easy as that, i would have done it myself. Well next time, as Richard says it needs doing every 6 months or so apparently it has had the problem before.

Time to go shopping, taking my garage queen out for a drive as it is a lovely sunny day.

There is actual liquid water falling from the sky. It is strange. With luck we might get an inch or so of rain. I wish it would do that for a couple of weeks straight.

No can do. I'm still recovering from last night's 5-alarm chicken green chili soup. For a Chinese lady, my wife has mad skilz making New Mexico-stye dishes. I love green chili. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/pray.gif

Years ago we had a kid come to work with us and he was from Pete's part of the world. We went to lunch and went to a Tex-Mex place. The kid fell in love. He ate nothing but Tex-Mex after that. A burrito for breakfast and a taco for lunch was his new mantra.

I wanna bite. Trying to lose weight. Low fat yogurt and oatmeal for breakfast. 3.5 miles on the treadmill. Don't want to spend money on bigger clothes.

Jim Richards 01-29-2013 07:54 AM

I love breakfast burritos (with some green chili inside). Mmmmmm. :)

You are green chile man, Jim! I do enjoy green chile soup.
