60deg at 4am in Jan. I love it

tweezers74 01-30-2013 12:33 AM

Going to bed. Love doing split shifts. :) All I can say is Cheyenne is COLD!!!! It is snowing outside and it's 9 degrees outside. AZ girl can't handle this. Why do people choose to live in places like this??? Maybe I need to visit in summer before I make snap judgements.

I am so not going to say what popped into my mind. :D

Wish I had thought of that (how sick I probably am) before I was halfway to work. Supposed to be in the low 70s today. Gonna plan to try to go outside for a few minutes at midday and see what the sun looks like. Haven't seen it for weeks.

Hot on the train...guess they didn't get the message that it is back in the 60s...after the 20s and 30s for a week.

I don't surf, but I might give it a shot on one of my SoCal work-cations. Our son surfs, a few times/week, all year long.

That sounds balmy for Cheyenne in January.

I'm really tired of the hostile work environment. 10 straight hours no breaks cause he screwed up a dead line. I get home 20 minutes later he calls me back in to fix something that could wait till the morning. Then asks me if a coworker plotted some drawing and got all pissy when I said I didn't know. I asked him how I was supposed to know what he talked to the guy on the phone about.

That really sucks, David. I've BTDT. Be patient and keep your eyes open for opportunity. Be there when it knocks.

Morning Jim, Glen, Richard, Rick, Tweeze, Jeff, D, David, Dave Pete, SteamWolf, et al,

wow the people are flocking to the Stijn thread.

Stijn where are youoooooooooooooo!! Come meet the new people!

Going to DC today with some friends to visit the Georgetown Cupcake shop, yeah I know pathetic excuse, but it will be a lovely day out with friends.

Rick, your little GD looks like a fun bundle, wish I had a little girl, boys although fun, just wouldn't let me dress them up in cute stuff, and weren't interested in learning my "skills", you know crocheting, knitting, quilting cooking, painting, girl stuff, so I had to gain some more skills with cars instead.

azzarule 01-30-2013 03:30 AM

Jeff you will have to eat those chocolates before they melt out there in the boonies!!

And chocolates and most wines don't go together, so eat them now.

Now chocolates and some after dinner liqueurs they go together, yum, with a nice strong coffee.

AND .....speaking of coffee, well time for one

AND...... speaking of coffee, D, your not just any old a***hole, your a really nice a****hole, lol. Its just a matter of perspective. Dave is just being a bit of a d***head sometimes, a bit sensitive, sounds a bit like my youngest, doesn't take advice too well.

fintstone 01-30-2013 03:39 AM

Looks like a good day for DC. It is warm and not raining yet.

RKDinOKC 01-30-2013 03:40 AM

Girl skills? When I was growing up my Mom basically ran a daycare. There were 9 neighbor kids at our house from 6:30am to 4:30pm. We learned all kinds of skills that might be considered girl stuff, cooking, sewing, knitting, painting, crafts. There was also the whole Cub Scouts, Webelos, and Boy Scouts projects where you got badges for that kind of stuff up to and including basket weaving.

The barber put goop in my hair when I got a hair cut, but no dressing up in cute stuff.

azzarule 01-30-2013 03:42 AM

fintstone, its really weird here atm, warm balmy, slight breezes, slightly overcast, mid 60s, last week it was snowing, black ice, and temps of mid teens, wtf.

Is it the same in Virginia?

azzarule 01-30-2013 03:48 AM

Richard, glad you learnt some additional skills there. My sons wont have anything to do with those girlie things, even though I told them that they might need them one day. I have used some of them in the upholstery, redoing the roof lining and carpeting of the Pusha, and when I reupholstered the seats and the dash on Miss Daisy.
