oh!I'll keep that in mind, I going to take it to the local place and see what the options are. Crutchfield is online only right(even though they are based out of charlottesville wich is like 45 misnf om work)? I kind of don't want to even deal with it :)

Jim Richards 06-19-2013 10:09 AM

Crutchfield has good installation help.

Ya they are online only afaik. But they are super helpful and include all the hookup stuff you need with the unit. I think you can chat online. It's worth checking out. ;)

I would be very reluctant to take my car to any stereo install shop. They are usually butchers to the wires. I bet Rick can do it quick and right. I just LOVE to volunteer other people's help! ;)

I have been super productive today in the lab. All while listening to Lewis Black all day and laughing my arse off.

Ok. I need to learn to read the fine print. Signed up for this thing at work and realize it is basically an Iron Man... Done over 30 days. That part isn't the thing that caught me off guard. I thought it was just running. Now I need to buy a bike. 2.4 miles swimming, 112 miles on a bike, and 26.2 miles running.

And oh yeah, it starts in less than two weeks.

What? To my iron man thing?

We have a stereo/tint shop here in OKC that is fantastic. The owner has a really nice Pantera he restored from a box of parts. He totally understands keeping a nice car nice too. He did a surround sound install in my other 928 that was fantastic.

He is going to put this head unit in my Range Rover...

http://homeavdirect.co.uk/media/shop...g?v=1276609466

It is touch screen with surround sound and does all the bluetooth iPhone linking stuff. He is also custom mounting a center channel speaker in the dash.

Planning to have him look at the 928 and see if he can modify it to fit a double DIN unit. Looking at some of the newer units and the car PC things. A car PC that I can run the track data/timing/video software on would be really cool.

Ya know they make cars and boats for getting around. It is way better than all that hard work. The cars usually have air conditioning!
