Morning everyone. I just realized that I also have a 3 day work week next week. We originally had just one day for 4th of July, but half the production workers took a vacation day on the friday after so the Boss and I decided to have a plant shutdown on that day.

Also looks like the bachelor party for saturday night's bar hopping on foot will be an interesting night in Gettysburg. I just realized it is the 150th anniversary for the battle of Gettysburg and they are expected to see 200,000+ people between this weekend and next. Good thing we have a house to stay at and don't have to worry about parking.

Great idea to make it a long holiday, Andy. Not as profitable, but it sure helps morale.

Glen, I think Luis was celebrating (by randomly texting people) the Supreme Court decision on the defense of marriage act. Diego must be his wife/husband/whatever-you-call-it.

Always good for morale and they are getting paid for it. We told them not to use a vacation day or sick day for it. We just came off of overtime since November and as a reward for getting us through the busy season, we felt they earned a nice long holiday weekend. Always have to look out for your production workers, they are the main key that gets product out to our customers. Plus with half of them off, we would have to bring in temps and pay the overhead on that. We didn't want our main mixers to feel they couldn't take off. This is one of the many aspects of the company I work for. We are a small company and have that tight family run feel. The company really treats their employees well.

Sounds like a great place to work, Andy. :)

Porsche-poor 06-27-2013 05:33 AM

Morning. Off to work then band practice.

Glad I work in a redneck type of environment. The only thing pc about my work place is where I get my info from

I like independent suspension. :)

Just opening this thread and looking at the photos at work would likely cost me my job.

Rick V 06-27-2013 02:19 PM

Dude, your boss is uptight. :D

Jim Richards 06-27-2013 02:21 PM

Hey Rick, I never did brief you on that underwhelming 318is we looked at last weekend. Here's what I recall:

Only about a third of the dents that were actually there showed up in the pics he sent. LOL
Only about a third of the upholstery tears that actually were there (3) showed up in the pics he sent (1) LOL
Tie rod end boots cracked/torn
CV boots torn
Eibach Red springs with stock shocks
Ricey exhaust with a bad resonance at 3-4k rpms (est)
325E instrument cluster--> wrong redline, incorrect rpm reading
Tires at end of life
Wrong size spare tire
Unknown age battery
HVAC controls not reliably operable
Some surface rust around doors
Transmission output shaft seal leaking

He was a bit surprised when The first thing I did was pull out my floor jack, jack stands, flashlights, and slip into my coveralls. i didn't even drive the car until I spent 30-40 minutes looking it over. After I talked with him about all these issues, he still felt his car was worth $6-6.5k. LOL

E30's are either way high or way low and most of them have issues.

Yeah, and their sellers describe them in the most optimistic terms.
