D yeah, it's been fun building....I'm expecting speeds near 20mph on grass and in excess of 50 on water

Went to look at a house yesterday.
Unfortunately it was a hot (nearly 40°C) dry windy day which resulted in the street looking like this:

Bushfire at Port Stephens: video, photos | Newcastle Herald

Not even sure if the houses for sale are even still there! Residents are only just being let back in this afternoon.

azzarule 10-13-2013 06:37 PM

wow, I hate bushfires.

Been through a couple of bad ones around the ACT.

I met an interesting man today. I was his instructor for the autocross. He was driving. 2008 Audi Quattro. This was the first time he had ever autocrossed.

His tags were from Florida and he had the look of a Air Force guy. Between runs we chatted and I found out he was a Lawyer for the Air Force. Then I found out he joined the Marines right after 9/11. He was a Marine sniper. There was no path to get his law degree so he got out of the Marines, and went back to college and passed the bar. Then he joined the Air Force.

I did thank him for his service.

He had a blast at the autocross.

Good story Glen.

The Marines loss, is Air Forces gain.

Yea, he is the type that gives me hope for the future of the country. He is a young, good looking intelligent man.

Matt smith is mediocre compared to david tennant so far

I wish they would have had amy paired up with david tennant's dr. who. He was my favorite followed by Chris eckleston then matt smith. Matt Smith grows on you over time but the other two are way better in my book.

Good Monday morning folks.

The rain has arrived here. We are supposed to get rain all day. That should push us into the third wettest year of all time, and it is just October. We might well get to second wettest. Just a year ago was a drought. Mama nature has a sense of humor.

Porsche-poor 10-14-2013 05:49 AM

Foggy and cold here. Some areas hit 32 as the low today.

porsche4life 10-14-2013 05:57 AM

Glen, you guys may be getting plenty, but we are still in a drought, with plenty of low or nearly dry lakes!!!

I may just have a chance at getting her steel undies off now ;)

Outback Porsche 10-14-2013 11:50 AM

I cleaned out my gutters on the weekend - probably not gunna rain here now.

GH85Carrera 10-14-2013 12:30 PM

Yea, but your gutters are clean.

Did you drill any holes in them? ;)

azzarule 10-14-2013 01:40 PM

Andy, am with you on the David Tennant Dr Who. I have been watching Dr Who since I was 7, and I used to think that David Tennant was the best, and wasn't too happy with Matt Smith, but after a couple of years of him, he grew on me, and his stupid antics, I quite enjoyed, and Rory too. Amy is great, and the story line gets very complex after a few episodes and I am currently rewatching the last two years of Matt Smith's Dr Who episodes to fully appreciate them. When I am on the treadmill I am watching them so I can just get on and forget about the miles passing me by.

GH85Carrera 10-14-2013 02:11 PM

I watched Dr who back in the early 80s. The station that carried it dropped it back then and I never found it again.
