Max, I just sent you a PM. So sorry to hear all of that about your father. And thank you for taking the time to write all of that out. I can "see" all that you are describing and wish that we were all there to help you and your family during this time. How is your mom doing?
I know this all was so scary but you know, your father is very lucky man when you consider all the possible things that could have easily gone the other way. I think he knows that and you know that. Close your eyes and remember that moment he opened his eyes and looked at you. Burn it into your brain. And whenever you are upset about something or stressed about something, remember that. It's all BS except for family and the people you love. Thinking about you and your family... Please let me know if you need anything. Hugs. |
Sorry to hear about your dad Max! Glad he was able to get help and is on the mend now. :).
|
Wow scary. Hang in there. We will all be thinking about you.
|
Yes, sorry about your dad, Max.

I think Rick should have the honor of posting the 100k message. Without all those posts we would still have a year to go. :)
Unless you can dig up the guru himself on FB or something.. |
Sorry to hear about your Dad Max. Does sound like he was lucky to make to a hospital and get the treatment he needed. Best wishes for his recovery.
First time I went under anethetics was to have a broken leg pinned. I had broken the femur in half in a motorcycle incident and the pin went from my hip to my knee. I woke up on a gurney in a hallway failing around with 8 big dudes holding me down and yelling at me to shut up. I was only conscious for a brief second before they put me out with a sedative. Didn't come to again until in my room the day after the operation. Later I overhead the nurses in the hallway outside my room whispering i was that guy that was demon possessed. All I can remember about the event was that I was demanding to see the doctor. He had said it wouldn't hurt and it did so something must have gone wrong during the operation. I was probably trying to get up to go find that doctor and it was taking 8 big dude to keep me down. No idea why I was in a hallway instead of the recovery room. Maybe I did get up and made it that far before they tackled me and put me on the gurney, don't know. The second time I went under it was to remove the pin a year later. Woke up in a recovery room with several other recovering patients, a nurse, and a doctor tending us. No drama. Again was only conscious a brief moment before being put out with pain killers and later waking again in my room. |
I've had to call back two surgery centers and apologize for my behavior in the past. :D
|
Wow Max! Glad to hear your dad is on the road to recovery. Sharyn and I send our well wishes.

Morning Y'all
Glad to hear your dad isn't gonna be a statistic Max. Best wishes headed your way |
The pooch has decided that the tissue is evil and needs to be destroyed. :)
Bloody messy work that... |
Morning Rick

Hi y'all. It's freakin' 30-something degrees out there this morning. Ack!@$*%!
Max, I'm so happy to hear that your dad pulled through the operation. We're about the same age and I'm keenly aware of the risk we're at with our tickers. One of my colleagues had a heart attack at the office. Once we discovered him slumped over at his desk, I, and another colleague administered CPR. Unfortunately, we were too late. It's a traumatizing experience. Max, I hope your dad is back to normal very soon, and that he has many, many happy years ahead. |
Morning Jim SmileWavy

Wow, Max it sounds like some amazing medical procedures saved your dad. Imagine trying to replace the intake or exhaust on your 911 while it is running. It is wonderful he is doing well. I miss my dad and I had him around until he was almost 83. And you will find almost everyone likes the paycheck part of the job the most. I have said for years I never wanted a career, I just want the steady paycheck. ;) Hopefully you will find a job you enjoy or at least don't mind doing. Give you dad an extra hug for the Stijn group. |
Morning Everyone!
