Morning all. No snow yet here just a little colder.

GH85Carrera 02-06-2014 05:40 AM

The S*** is tiny little flakes and blowing around. It is kinda cool watching it blow around on the road. We get more tomorrow. I hate February.

Porsche-poor 02-06-2014 05:43 AM

Don't blame you.

I'd get one of the admin girls to slap me around except I'd enjoy it too much. :D

I'd be more worried about your missing "U" key.

Good morning folks.

I missed the debate. Someone that believes the earth is just 4,000 years old will never listen to logic and reason. They have a inner feeling and faith that will never be changed with a debate.

Someone that understands Science is a process of step by step investigations over many centuries and explorations of the entire planet and solar system that link together to come up with a scientific theory that does not involve magic, superstition or supernatural forces will never believe the earth is just 4,000 years old without some stunning and very strong evidence. (wow long sentence)

In other words, they can debate all night and no one will change their minds.

The bible says that noah's flood happened approximately 5700 BC.
That's a whole lot longer than 4000 years.

Got the stove in.

Baked some chocolate chip cookies.

The age of the earth is not measured by scientists in thousands of years but many many thousands of millenniums. Only the folks that deny evolution think it is thousands of years. The difference between thousands of years and billions of years is enormous.

No amount of debate will change any minds. No hard evidence will ever change your mind. It is very unlikely any shred of evidence will show up to challenge the estimates of the age of the earth. If it does Science will change the estimate.

Jim Richards 02-06-2014 09:17 AM

Hey Richard, sorry to hear that your family is continuing to mess around with your mother.

Alright now OK guys, please stop sending us your cold, blustery weather. That groundhog predicted another 6 six weeks of winter, and we all know that groundhog is full of scheiße. So, it should be warming up here. Got it? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/burn.gif

A good movie...The Man From Earth.

About a guy that has somehow been alive since paleo era. Is a college professor and the movie is a good bye parting where he tells his contemporaries how old he is and they try to prove/disprove his claims.

Here it is on vimeo

I believed in a mixed theory of my own between creation and evolution. I call it crelution.... say what you will, but everything is just a theory. I don't bother myself with timelines because when it comes down to it, what is your point of reference. We all know with Einsteins Theory of Relativity we can easily turn 1 year into thousands of years just by changing the point of reference. AND! until we find the "Missing Link" pure dawin evolution will stay just a theory. If it wasn't for the Law of Conservation of Energy and the Law of Conservation of Angular Momentum, I wouldn't put creation into the mix.

We are trying to get rid of it but having no luck. It just keeps coming in waves of crappy weather. I suspect the autocross scheduled for Sunday ain't gonna happen. The high is supposed to be 32 on Sunday, and there is snow everywhere.

porsche4life 02-06-2014 09:49 AM

C'mon glen! Matt has the Cayenne now so set up will be a breeze. Just slap on some snow tires and go nuts!

C'mon guys, don't get this thread sent to PARF. This is supposed to be a thread about nothing.

The real problem is that all the chemtrails are changing the carbon 14 date estimates. The chemtrails are really from the extraterrestrial lizard people. Everyone know the lizard people are eating the human babies. Only bigfoot and the unicorns can save us.

Jim Richards 02-06-2014 10:31 AM

I serious guys! Talking about lizard people and unicorns is just asking for moderator trouble. P-A-R-F-f-f-f-f-f-f-f.

porsche4life 02-06-2014 10:34 AM

I agree Jim! Just having sammy hanging around is unsettling! He's a parf magnet!
