When I had my 944 Turbo S setup very saaaweeet... Crusin down the turnpike just minding my own bidness. This black Boxster with an aero kit comes up and see saws wanting me to race from speed limit rolling start. So, downshift floor it and leave em. Then slow down to resume cruzin at the speed limit. The guy catches up zig zaggin thru traffic cutting people off etc., and wants to go again. Same result. Not much could compete with a well tuned 944 Turbo S from 60 to 105, 3rd gear on boost. So the guy practically has a wreck trying to catch up the second time and get in front of me in traffic. I'm back to just crusin and the guy seems happy to stay the first car in front of me doing the speed limit. Coming up on my exit and signal. The guys evidently sees the signal in his mirror and crosses two lanes to just barely make the exit and be the car right in front of me. The exit is a nice ess with plenty of run off and a nice straight before an interaction that I've enjoyed pushing the limits on often. Catch him as he brakes for the first turn of the ess. No problem staying on his bumper as he accelerates to the next turn. When he brakes again I don't bother to brake. Instead, downshift and accelerate moving to the far outside of the turn and pass him as he apexes the turn. This puts me as the first car at the stop sign after the off ramp. Felt that pretty much proved he is way out matched. Just go about my merry way. This guy again, drives like a maniac to get back in front of me in traffic. Sgnal to turn at the next light and he cuts another car off to make the same turn. Then seemed happy to stay ahead of me until I turned again, without signaling this time. Never saw that Boxster again. |

Weird. Don't those people have places to go and things to do? They'd rather "lead" you to wherever you're going than continue on their merry way? |

Have no idea what the guy was thinking. |

So I'm on my drive home from work through a wealthy neighborhood of large homes. In the middle of a front yard is 2 women, a teenage girl, and boy that looks to be about 7. The two women look to be in their 30's and are casually chatting. The teenage girl is looking at and listening to the two women. The boy is holding one of the women's hands. Their body language, facial expressions, and gestures showed no sense of urgency, anger or anything other than neighbors casually chatting as if over a fence from the entire group. The boy is buck naked. As I proceeded down the street I tried to think of what would have lead up to that scene. The puzzling thing was that they were in the direct middle of the yard, not near a walk or driveway, AND they were so casual. If the boy ran out of the house naked, why wasn't he being dragged back into the house by his captor, and what were the other two doing there? If the neighbor brought the escaped naked boy home, why were they in the middle of the yard. And why was the teenage girl there? And the entire time they were in my view they never paid any attention to the boy, and the boy was just standing there. He wasn't trying to get away or fidgeting and didn't look or act like he had just gotten in trouble. The scene was just too casual with no emotion. Almost turned around and went back to ask. |
