Outback Porsche 03-17-2014 01:02 PM

Two days left in the Apple Isle :(

Still have a week and a half of holiday left though :)

RKDinOKC 03-17-2014 01:29 PM

Holiday...What IS that?

Jim Richards 03-17-2014 01:40 PM

My memory is fading/failing on the subject.

It is the funny way they say vacation. That is when you don't go into the office anymore. Wait, that is kinda what you do every day. ;)

Porsche-poor 03-17-2014 02:19 PM

My brain took a long vacation starting last night at pillow time. ZZZZZZZ!!!!!

HHI944 03-17-2014 05:26 PM

God I have Car ADD......I really really want an S600

Flieger 03-17-2014 06:01 PM

Can a 944 fit a bike inside without breaking the rear glass?

Can a Z3/M coupe (the dork car/clown shoe/breadvan, etc.)?

nynor 03-17-2014 06:02 PM

yes. i have transported my 62 cm roadbike in the back of my 944 several times. take the front wheel off, you are good to go.

Thanks. I was hoping to hear that. Or maybe I wasn't. :D

I sat in a 914 for the first time this Sunday. Car had too many issues, but I found out that it had a lot less luggage space than I thought. I was picturing Boxster like twin trunks. Boy was I wrong. I dig how you sit on the floor though.

Gonna stick with the Ford for a while and save up for something that can carry a bike and some luggage and is rear wheel drive with a manual transmission.

nynor 03-17-2014 06:26 PM

you'd be pretty surprised how much stuff you can put in the back of a 944.

porsche4life 03-17-2014 06:43 PM

Max, get one of those strap to the trunk racks and greatly expand your options. What about a a BRZ or an FRS? Get something nearly new and reliable. A Focus ST would be a good option also, albeit not RWD, but bloody fast!

GH85Carrera 03-17-2014 07:04 PM

Max, just get a pickup.

nynor 03-17-2014 07:09 PM

an el camino would be an interesting compromise.

GH85Carrera 03-17-2014 07:12 PM

The perfect car er truck!

nynor 03-17-2014 07:15 PM

exactly. :)

porsche4life 03-17-2014 07:24 PM

There was a fairly cheap 86 out this way a few months ago, but I've go to place to store it ;)

Flieger 03-17-2014 09:07 PM

No FWD. No pickemup trucks. Not really interested in Japanese. If I needed a car now then FRS/BRZ, Miata, or MR2 would pass, but I don't need a car, just want a nicer one.

I've got a rack I used on my Bimmer but I would like a car that can accept the bike on the inside. It is a little safer and keeps the bugs, dirt, and rain off the bike during transit.

I have the 911 as a toy car, this one will have to be a semi-practical car.

porsche4life 03-17-2014 09:09 PM

Max I hauled my bike inside the corolla, and it was a royal pain in the ass. I have an SUV now, and I'm looking for a rack for it. So much easier. And if you are riding your bike right, it's getting plenty damn dirty while you ride it.

nynor 03-17-2014 09:10 PM

ah, the BRZ. i love the look of that car. my car ate the lunch of one a couple months back. not too surprising, except to the owner of the new car. :)

still, i'd happily drive the new BRZ. its a gorgeous car, IMO, and has gotten good reviews.

the bike in the back of the 944 was a piece of cake.
