It's really not far off from my experience in the Army...they just weren't allowed to strike you and you didn't bring your weapon to barracks...
I actually got into a fight with a Drill Sgt. He was being a douche and kept singling me out so I implied that he had little dick syndrome....he asked if I wanted to fight and I said....wait for it....."You take the first swing, I'll take the last" He sucker punched me in the kidney hard enough I peed blood for a bit and I kick him in the jewels hard enough they held him overnight for observation. Our grievances were settled privately at the urging of Top and we actually got along pretty well after that....I was a terrible soldier.
