Just a bump back to page one.

My car is spending the night at the dealer's garage. I will go vist it tomorrow morning. My garage does not look right with my baby on a sleep over.

nynor 06-21-2010 08:48 PM

porsche4life 06-21-2010 08:48 PM

Well for starters I am under age and my family are law abiding folk for the most part.... And it was just Natty Light, might as well drink lake water... And my uncle is 1/2 russian,1/2 indian, and 1/2 alcoholic.... I'd drink myself to death trying to keep up....

Lol, i'd like to meet your uncle, he must be huge if he's 3/2 of man!
You're right Sid, why get drunk on no-quality beer? That just drinking for no other reason than to get wasted...
Not worth your effort.

Morning guys! Sunny weather and very good forecast for the rest of the week!! :)

slodave 06-21-2010 10:23 PM

As far as I know, the coppers really can't do much if you are on private property and it's your parents providing you the booze.

Natty light does plain suck, but you are a college kid and it is a typical college brew. :)

Geronimo '74 06-21-2010 10:29 PM

Good morning Dave,

Glad to see you're still around.
Hope you're doing good, buddy!

livi 06-21-2010 10:53 PM

Morning, guys.

Yup, those glasses are ridiculous and yes, both sisters are very doable. :D

Geronimo '74 06-21-2010 11:10 PM

Victoria does have a little Jay Leno thing going on, but she's far from fugly.

slodave 06-21-2010 11:38 PM

I'm doing alright G. I need to get out to the river and spend a day looking for more gold though... Hopefully Thursday or Friday.

Check it out... This one needs to be opened with quicktime or it won't work

Great pics!!

That 360° view is awesome.
I'd love to do that sometime but over here we don't have that kind of places. And no gold either...

slodave 06-21-2010 11:58 PM

Maybe not in Belgium, but I know there are people panning in other parts of Western Europe. You can find gold, it just may have been worked already..
BBC NEWS | UK | England | Staffordshire | Huge Anglo-Saxon gold hoard found
You don't need a raging river, a lot of guys use streams and I know Europe has plenty of those.

If you ever make it out this way, I'd be happy to take you for a day or two. :)

That's something that we don't have, since our history is rather young. People can detect stuff from the Revolutionary and Civil wars, but out here in the West, you only find things from the 1800's.... I don't think there is much Spanish Conquistador stuff to be found out here, maybe some ship wrecks.

I have been lurking on a gold hunting forum and there are a number of guys that go to the same area that I am. There is one guy that found at least a gram in a day. In the SoCal, area, the gold is a lot finer. You can find larger nuggets up to an ounce in NorCal. They aren't talking about where they are finding this color, but it's near where I am looking. Now that the river is slowing down, it is easier to cross. They keep referring to river crossings... I need to get up there on a day they are there and see if I can introduce myself, find an in...

porsche4life 06-22-2010 05:26 AM

Dave we were at a state park... Coppers can say a lot...

GH85Carrera 06-22-2010 05:36 AM

Good morning gents.

I am waiting on a phone call from the dealer to have me deliver the corner balance scales. I asked if it would be OK to hang out and watch the process. He said no problem. It should be interesting to watch the process of alignment, ride height adjustment and final corner balance. I am shooting for total compromise settings. I can’t dial in aggressive autocross settings and drive to Parade with a car full of stuff without eating up my tires. I can’t go as low as a lot of guys for the aggressive look and not scrape the tow hooks off of the bottom of the car, especially when it is loaded with a bunch of luggage for a one week vacation.

GH85Carrera 06-22-2010 05:38 AM

Welcome back SloDave. It is nice to see ya again!

RKDinOKC 06-22-2010 06:27 AM

The most accurate setup should have 1/2 tank of gas and you sitting in the driver's seat while it's on the scales.

You can get fairly aggressive on zero toe and negative camber without tire wear. If you leave the decision to Scott he will just set it on the aggressive side of the stock alignment range.

GH85Carrera 06-22-2010 11:45 AM

That is what I want, and what he just did. I did not set it up for ultimate fast at the autocross. Autocross is a part of why I own it, but if I wanted a track car I would have used poly-bronze bushings, bigger torsion bars and Bilstien Sport shocks and gummy tires. I will be driving 2 thousand highway miles in the next month. I want a car that rides decent when I drive on the streets.

GH85Carrera 06-22-2010 12:12 PM

Here is my car on the alignment rack while sitting on the corner balance scales.

Here is the before shot of the scales.

The car is 2,741 pounds with some balast in the drivers seat.

Here is the final weight.

Not too bad. The ride heights are within 4 mm side to side, with a 1.2 degree foreward rake.

Rick V 06-22-2010 04:03 PM

Nice

GH85Carrera 06-22-2010 07:43 PM

Thanks Rick. I hope the "nice" is about my post :)

I can't wait to get the new tires mounted tomorrow and then drive it!

Of course first I need to get the rocker panels back on. But first I need to get the rock guards replaced, but before I do that I need to get the front condenser back on, but before I do that I need to evacuate the R-12 and pull a vacuum so I can hook up the condenser. But, aw s*** I have a lot of work left to do before I am ready.
