Finally!

I made a reservation for NYE at the casino hotel last week and included in it a pamper package for Sharyn at the day spa. I've been leaving messages on their answering machine for them to call so I could book her a time to get pampered since I made the booking on the 23rd. They finally answered their phone after I left another message earlier this morning. They're bloody lucky, as they were about to get a public bashing on FB if I got the answering machine one more time.

Anyway, the little lady should be nice and relaxed for some NYE shenanigans :D

Arrrrrrh! Bunch of fcuking bonheads!

I've been sent an email from the boneheads at the day spa and they've fcuked up the booking date.

:(:confused::mad::(:confused::mad:

Maybe it's one of those spas that specialize in happy endings so they only answer calls from local numbers.

It's just hard to get good immigrant help these days

On the upside, thanks to a faulty town sewer and having an easement down the side of my property, I had a plumber in my front yard this arvo. Told him about my leaky copper pipe and 15mins later it's all fixed. He'll be around later in the week to look at the solar hot water.

I'm a happy chappy :)

You am lucky ducky

Morning Y'all, My coffee pot sure is slow this morning

GH85Carrera 12-29-2014 03:33 AM

So Jeff, the crappy town sewer was a good thing?

Good morning folks. I am heading back to work after 4 days off.

But are you going to do some work?

Jim Richards 12-29-2014 04:01 AM

It's going to be pretty quiet in the office this week. More than half the staff are on vacation. If I have to work, I sure prefer it when it's quiet.

Well....

I think I will consolidate the film from the last year of flying the small projects onto one roll and put the flight logs with that roll. I will stick it on the shelf next to the other film going back to the 1950s. Since I have been here 10 years I have a digital list of the projects I will update that list that goes back to the time I started. The stuff earlier is scattered everywhere. We still have the digital scans of the newer projects. It is very rare to ever go back to a clients special project and we can't use that flight for another client since it was a special done project for one client.

It would be cool to go back to some of the early stuff from the 1950s and scan it and then manage to figure out where and what it is. When the can has a scribble like Smith & Jones project and no real location information is can be nearly impossible to figure out if it is something local or something from Tulsa.

We had a client ask for historical images of an area in Ponca City last week. I found the 1937, 1941 & 1954 flights be they wanted Summer of 1948 so they were out of luck. We would need a time machine to get that.

Today is nail down lodgings in Tucson, The guy I am looking to rent from had a death in his family so he is kind of a little busy, and Beth and I are not high on the list of priorities. Totally understandable but It's all about me damnit

So, what you're saying is that you need my help again.

Rick, things going smoothly seems like a pipe dream. At least that's been my experience.

Rick V 12-29-2014 04:29 AM

Jim, I have been filling pot holes on this for a week now, and I know the worst is yet to come

RKDinOKC 12-29-2014 04:35 AM

I'm up, but not going to admit that it is actually morning yet. So there, ha.

Rick V 12-29-2014 04:36 AM

Richard, you being up has nothing to do with a clock. :D

Got a $25 Red Lobster gift card for Christmas. Never eaten there, not much of a seafood eater and slightly alergic to shellfish.

As it turned out, yeah it was a good thing. Funny thing was, it was the neighbor that was having problems with the sewer.

We have clients call and ask for a photo of their property on a certain date for 20 years ago and it is some remote site next to the middle of nowhere. If they had hired us to fly it back then, we would still have it. Since they did not hire us back then we did not just by chance flay around shooting pictures of the ground that no one wanted. We shoot downtown OKC on a fairly regular basis but there are lots of people in the city that might want it.

It seems like some folks think we fly all of Oklahoma every single day at a super high resolution and can sell it for just a few bucks. They choke when we tell them we actually charge money for aerials since we are not a library we sell images for a living.

Outback Porsche 12-29-2014 04:57 AM

So, a digital list would have two disconnected values on it. That can't be too difficult to maintain.

;)
