I took a shotgun in to work once. Worked night shift, me and a co-worker were going quail hunting right after work. Car were getting broken into at night so I didn't want to leave it in my GMC Jimmy. Thought the locked cabinet in the supervisor's office would be a much safer place to leave it.

Walked into the supervisor's office carrying a shotgun, he looked up like a deer in headlights and asked what I wanted. I said a pay raise. He immediately said "You got it."

Then explained why I really brought it in and he agreed that it was a good idea and put it in the locked down tool cabinet. Pulled the revolver out of his back pocket and stated he would LOVE to catch whomever is breaking into the cars.

Got 4 birds that morning. And a pay raise on my next paycheck.

Good Morning so far...the down hill slide begins.

Happy Thursday.

We used to keep an old loaded shotgun behind the door in the main office. It was right next to the napping couch. When the old boss took early retirement at age 92 he took it with him. (The shotgun not the couch)

Well, that was one way to take care of solicitors. What do you do now?

Office area moving week for us. I have a storage room and a work room that are to be consolidated into a singe room the size of the work room. My office gets to move as well. No more window for me as I will be in the basement with the rest of the business office staff. Rumor has it that the office gets warm in the winter but at least it has a ceiling fan.

Most of the work room and storage is moved. Threw a lot of stuff away and we won't be able to keep as much spares on hand.

The worst part? I will be surrounded by people now. My office before the move had me, a work room, the kitchen, a storage room and the purchasing director. No one else on our half of the floor. I hate people.

either fart a lot or get a noise maker. they will avoid you.

RKDinOKC 10-08-2015 11:38 AM

Just be overly cheerful and happy in the morning and a obnoxious grouch in the afternoons. Then in a while you will be working from home.

I must have mentioned sometime that I hate daylight savings.

I live in a geographical location that doesn't partake in the concept, yet the work boneheads that make all decisions think that it is necessary for the whole site to participate. Some BS about customer support.

By the end of the week the early starts have me rooted. Not being able to sleep last night didn't help in any way.

I obviously looks tired and grumpy because people will avoid me till about 9ish - even the phone knows not to ring.

The IT help requests roll in..

Early in the morning, something to do while they are sitting there sipping on their coffee.

Just before lunch, don't want to do anything, but can't leave for lunch until the specified time.

And just before they go home, same reason as lunch. Can't leave yet, but really don't want to do anything.

On the way in to work today some female in a Cobalt SS thought she would blow the stop sign beside me to jump in line. There is an intersection westbound that has two lanes. One goes to the south ramp and the other to the north. She was a few cars behind and I pulled to the left to use the south ramp. She stayed right and forgot to stop at the intersection so I got on the gas to keep pace with her and listened to he furiously rowing the gears for a bit and then I floored to to put several car lengths between us. Unfortunately there was another car on the ramp that I caught up to or I would have left her way behind on the S turn as well. I let her go about her merry way on the interstate.

We had a request come in for a laptop and projector for 7:00am the next day. The request arrived after I had gone home for the day. I don't get in until after 8:00. I keep telling them at least 24 hours notice but they forget. Bummer for them, I am not going to hold their hands constantly about the proper way to do things.

GH85Carrera 10-08-2015 02:51 PM

New record!

We were asked to quote a job for 2020. 5 years from now is just silly. They just need something. No contract will be signed just an estimate.

Morning Y'all
I was told today I need to be a little calmer when I get to work. The rest f the shop drags in and is very quiet, I just pop in and hut the ground running. They finally catch up to me later in the morning.
My son warned them but I think they all thought he was joking
