Actually all the armed forces guys were really good and patient with him. He has lots of questions. He is also in awe of those guys.

They wouldn't get picked for that duty if they weren't good with kids.

He said it is something every pilot shot do at least once. You have to pay close attention to what you are doing and all the other folks as well. It is a very intense period for a pilot.

I would imagine so. Still give them props for being there in 90*/90% all day and keep their cool, so to speak. The poor Marines working on the Harrier. "What part is that (as they were replacing parts near the empennage)? How many bombs do you carry? How big is the cannon?"

What happens to a storm trooper if you drop a bucket of fire on him? That was the WTH question of the day.

I know several that have done it. When they land they have 4 at a time going in. One halfway down the runway and one at the close end and the same thing on the taxiway.

We saw a couple take off and the takeoff run was long and the got into the vortices of the plane in front of them.

OK, I lied. What is on the dudes foot?

Smoke canister?

flipper35 07-28-2015 01:05 PM

That was my guess but it looks fastened in an odd way.

Why do they "pedal" when they are close to the ground, but several seconds from landing?

HHI944 07-28-2015 01:16 PM

Fastened that way so it doesn't interfere with ankle movement.

No idea on the pedalling thing. Reiver would know.

It's like holding a dog over water.

anyone have ideas on how to package some porsche wheels for shipping? no tires on them, D90's. TIA.

HHI944 07-28-2015 05:10 PM

Quadruple corrugated cardboard. AC units come in it so you should be able to snag some from am AC company for free.

nynor 07-28-2015 05:14 PM

okay, that sounds really promising. thanks!

I used it to pack up a road bike going to California and the buyer said it arrived in perfect condition.

Gosh, I think its happy hump day!

Good morning everyone. Grumble grumble dang traffic is messing up my serene morning commute. Many times I have driven 3.5 miles and not seen any traffic at all. Today there were over a dozen cars. Dang development. And it is only going to get worse. :(

RKDinOKC 07-29-2015 04:55 AM

Yeah Glen, It's going to get really bad if the company I work for puts in their 1000 employee facility right smack dab in the middle of your commute.

Jim Richards 07-29-2015 05:16 AM

A dozen cars per block is moderate traffic here.

flipper35 07-29-2015 05:36 AM

I see maybe a dozen cars on the highway, then I get to town. :(

Good thing I only have a few miles in town and only 4 stoplights. I know people on the other side have a shorter mile/much longer time commute than I do.

Jim, you are lucky I hadn't had breakfast yet or you would owe me a new keyboard.

Jim Richards 07-29-2015 05:44 AM

Nice pic, eh? :D
