Both of my parents go by their middle names, not sure why, they just always have. I think my dad just doesn't want to answer to Homer. :D

I'm just glad my parents broke the trend... Great grandpa was Homer Lee, Grandpa was Homer Franklin, Dad was Homer Lee II. I'm just glad I didn't get stuck with Homer Franklin! ;)

Almost time to leave for LA!

I don't have a middle name.

Brother George had a step daughter when married to his 3rd wife. After bro came down with MS and while the step daughter was a senior in HS they went thru some expensive court ordeal to change the step daughter last name to Davis and make her officially his adopted daughter. Less than a full year later he not only divorced the girls Mom, but the girl got married and changed her last name. The girl never once came to visit him. Not once in the morn than 15 years before he died.

My Mom went buy her first and middle name, Lois Jean. My brother made sure they put all her names on her tombstone. Lois Jean Bavinger Hill Davis. Growing up she was the oldest of 3 sisters and was called Doll. She was the homecoming prom queen in 1936. She kept the napkins, decorations and stuff from the prom and they used them to recreate the prom at her 50th HS reunion.

My brother's wife and her two sisters weren't given a middle name so it would be more convenient to user her birth last name for a middle name after she got married. SIL's name is Kay Kimmell HIll. She did the same for her Daughter so her daughter is Karen Hill Bullard. They gave their second son her maiden last name as his middle name, David Kimmell Hill.

I was named after my Dad so legally I am the 2nd. After he passed, I stopped using the II after my name. We considered naming our son after me to make him the 3rd but I decided against it. Instead we gave him the middle name Daniel after my older brother that died.

I don't think I'm named for anyone, significant or otherwise. And my middle name is (IMO) kind of lame. Just not lame enough to do anything about it.

Moon Unit Zappa asked her Dad Frank if she could change her name. He asked to what. She said Sunshine. He said you already have a silly name so no. Said if it had been something normal he would have let her.

Jim Richards 10-23-2015 06:34 PM

Moon Unit is a cool name. I'm not sure about Zappa.

Noah930 10-23-2015 09:23 PM

I've only met one other guy with my name (different spelling, tho)

Early Saturday Morning...Good?

A fellow employee in IT pronounced like Noah but is spelled Noe.

Rick V 10-24-2015 05:01 AM

Morning Y'all
My official name is not Rick but something fairly lofty in my opinion. When my son was born Beth named him after me so he is a Jr. I was against it knew better to argue with a woman.
The boy is 6ft and fairly stocky and some folks call his Jr, which is what I was afraid of but since he is smaller then me it kind of fits

Jim Richards 10-24-2015 05:18 AM

Nice beer girls there, Jeff. :)

Mornin' y'all. SmileWavy
