Yeah, you have slightly milder winters. But we get snow and you get ice.

Evening Y'all
I have no need for AC in the garage it stays very cool but heat is required. The boiler is in the garage and when I replaced it a couple of years ago I had a single wall stack installed so all the heat that would normally go up the flu is actually given off in the garage. In the dead of winter I have an IR heater I can use if I am going to be down there

Hey guys, still alive (although one of my mates tried his best to rub me out). It was a very slow start to the day - only skied the arvo today. Meh, it's only day 3...plenty of time to do more damage

Glen, since you have 220 in the garage, have you looked at installing a mini split? Quieter and more efficient. No monkeying around with the door setup. I'll go to a mini split in a few years hopefully. Pulling more juice to the garage is my next big garage project.

Glad you are having fun Jeff. Is it your birthday? Happy birthday!

It's just stopped snowing for a beautiful sunset

Good hump day morning everyone.

It was like waking up in the north today. It is 72 degrees out there. Very nice. Of course I am at work in a metal building with not one single window in the building. If I open the back door it looks nice out. Maybe we should throw open the garage door?

RKDinOKC 08-12-2015 04:51 AM

Yep, that car was sold over 2 years ago for over $90K. There is a similar GTS listed for $124K. A GTS in similar condition and miles as mine sold a week ago for $85K. The collector magazines and those keeping track of 928 values are reporting the 928 is becoming popular and prices are going up big time. The 928 value guy said I am actually lucky the guy I offered to sell for what I thought was crazy money of $80K didn't buy it.

There is also a lime green 78 model with tan pasha interior with 2700 miles listed for $125K.

My brother doesn't like it. He has a red 56 T-Bird with a class 3 restoration he bought for $130K that he can't get an offer over $50K for.

Didn't buy my GTS to make any money on. Bought it because I like the 928 GTS and the color combo.

The main breaker box is right next to my work bench. Electricity is no problem. The challenge with a mini split is where to put it. The south east wall of the garage where my door and the AC unit is works great. That east wall is mostly the side that goes against the rest of the house. The SE corner is where the bathroom is and along the south wall is the current house AC compressor and trash can storage. The garage doors on the west and the north wall is three cars away on the other side of the garage in the garden side of the front of the house.

I would have to have some sort of ceiling mounted AC to have a mini split. I talked to one AC salesman and it was obvious they sent out the young and inexperienced new guy. All he could figure out is what the charts show for the square footage. Heat load of hot cars and one big open space was way beyond his imagination.

We have Thunder downtown in the Chesapeake arena. They run around with a big orange ball and bounce it around and then throw it through a ring that hangs just above eye level for most of them. Lots of people show up to watch and make a big traffic mess downtown. It is a silly game.

GH85Carrera 08-12-2015 10:14 AM

One of my friends lives in an apartment. He said yesterday afternoon a few cops showed up at the complex which is not super unusual. He saw the apartment manager follow the cops to the apartment above his. She unlocked the door and the cops went in and right back out and closed the door. Evidently the over 300 pound lady that used to live upstairs died a few days ago. He said the corner went up there with some helpers. He heard someone run across the room and they puked over the railing. It was evidently not a good scene and a bad smell.

Porsche-poor 08-12-2015 10:15 AM

ahh the former Sonics. I could care less. In the 26 years of living up here I went to one game and only that one game for two reasons. One they were playing in Tacoma while the remodel of the arena to make them happy was going one ( see where that got Seattle) and two the tickets were free. Otherwise I don't even watch on tv.

RKDinOKC 08-12-2015 10:22 AM

South of OKC the drag strip is called Thunder Valley. More interesting, but have only been there twice. Two more times than to a basket ball game.

Oh Haha 08-12-2015 10:24 AM

Frikkin gas prices went up 60 cents since Sunday here. I paid 2.39/gal on Sunday, today the stations are all at 2.99/gal.

Porsche-poor 08-12-2015 10:24 AM

tons more interesting that is for sure.

Porsche-poor 08-12-2015 10:25 AM

Last week they up'd the gas tax by 7 cents here.
