Thanks, but I still can't find my deer skin work gloves. I put them somewhere so Pepper couldn't get to them. It has worked really well cause I can't find them either!

Porsche-poor 12-03-2015 09:34 AM

Ask the dog where she hid them.

Sorry to be Davey Downer

We got to school today and were met with grief counselors. it seems a 4th grade girl passed away yesterday. My kids knew her but didn't want to talk about while at school. Several of the little girl's friends were buying trinkets from the book fair to put in the casket. I'm pretty freakin' tough but it was difficult to hear that.

I remember the girl from when I have volunteered in the past. :(

Gotta go back and set up for the afternoon crowd of kids.

Porsche-poor 12-03-2015 09:43 AM

Hang in there.

GH85Carrera 12-03-2015 10:58 AM

Sorry for your kid's friends family Wayne.

I vividly remember when I was a Jr. in high school a kid that rode the bus with me to school finally talked his parents into letting him have a motorcycle to ride to school. He had been riding on the street for a few months. Right in front of our school bus he tried to zip across the street and an 18 wheeler took him out when he slid on some sand in the intersection. It happened right in front of our bus and I saw the entire thing. They shoveled him into a coffin. It was the first funeral I ever went to.

That Friday in school at the assembly they mentioned his death and we had a moment of silence in the auditorium. No councilors, no school organized memorial. The kid was an Air Force kid like I was and I had only known him from riding the bus together for a few weeks.

I never did get "into" motorcycles.

Morning all

Porsche-poor 12-03-2015 11:47 AM

Fake! I thought the koalas were to lazy to jump on people.

flipper35 12-03-2015 11:50 AM

They don't jump, they fall.

Outback Porsche 12-03-2015 11:55 AM

It is important to put vegemite behind your ears at all times though :D

There was a hint there. :p

I don't even want to know what that might attract.

porsche4life 12-03-2015 12:11 PM

Jim, I'd gladly offer you a bed, but there's a 99% chance Thuy's dad will be living with us by then. So a) we won't have a spare bed, b) I wouldn't want anyone to have to put up with him... Hell I barely can stand him!

His oral chemo stopped working so they are looking at switching him to something else, but likely he will live with us until the end, and Thuy is betting thats a year at best...

RKDinOKC 12-03-2015 12:16 PM

Maybe we should go to Arizona where only black widows, scropions, rattlesnakes, and gila monsters are poisonous.

porsche4life 12-03-2015 12:17 PM

Don't forget the brown widows, fiddlebacks, and now the kissing bugs!

Don't be a dumbass and the poisonous stuff is no problem. You guys bring fun cars out and I can take you on some killer roads!

RKDinOKC 12-03-2015 12:39 PM

Oh yeah, and coppaheads.

The worst is the skunky beer though. May not be poisonous, but very nasty none-the-less.

Sorry, Sid. My hint was that we'd be passing through on our way to SoCal. Just responding to your weather comment. Maybe we'll be able to meet up for breakfast/lunch/dinner, depending on when we roll through your area. And best wishes to Thuy's dad. This is a tough time for him and all of you.

The Okies will be invaded, as well.

GH85Carrera 12-03-2015 01:27 PM

We are ready Jim.

Just let me know why day and an approximate time and I can be ready. We can PM the details as it gets closer to the big move.

Oh Haha 12-03-2015 01:43 PM

Thanks guys. In wasn't sure how my daughter would react. I saw her a few times during the day and she indicated she was ok so I didn't press on.

When we got home the floodgates opened. She said she didn't want to cry at school so she looked strong for the other kids.

I just held her until she was done crying. I have a feeling that it won't be the last time I do this.

My son hasn't shown much emotion but he rarely does for ANYTHING.

On a good note, the book fair has brought in quite bit of dough for the school. Next year I am sending a note home for the parents: PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY>>>Put the kid's money in an envelope with their name and amount on it!!!

Evening Y'all.
Man I have got to say I messed my shoulder bad. I have broken a pile of bones and broken my neck and back but I have never had an injury that made me vomit from the pain..........until now.
Holy crap this is worst than broken ribs

RKDinOKC 12-03-2015 04:00 PM

Haven't ever really had much emotion over people passing, including parents. Since I was born late, Mom was 40, I was exposed to a lot of funerals when younger, grandparents etc. Only got emotional when MY dog Penny that stayed By My Side for 17 years passed from old age.

Rick, you should have a doctor look at that, you may have torn something that needs to be tied back together.
