Lol.

Noticed a local burger joint has green chili breakfast burritos. May have to try one this morning. If it's good, they'll most likely take it off the menu. They ain't open for another 30 minutes.

About 8pm CST, no good for 15 to 20 mins, and from memory I think it changes to 7pm CST during US summer. Prolly find out fer sure in about a month when the world does a time warp.

RKDinOKC 03-07-2016 02:27 AM

Was on maintenance from 4:30am to 5am this morning USA Central Standard Time. Had just come back when Jeff posted.

Not really sure why Pelican goes down for maintenance. The Rennlist discussion board only goes down on the rare occasion there is a problem.

Heard our state is thinking of not putting us on the time warp any more.

Morning, y'all. Yeah, that Pelican shutdown every morning (5:30-6AM ET) is a PITA. I'm usually sitting down to eat and surf the internet then, and the PPBBS is off in LaLa Land. When we're finally out on the left coast, the shutdown will be while I'm sawing logs.

It's going to be great weather between today and Friday. Too bad about this work thing. I guess I could always go play Huckleberry Finn. :D

Richard, I wish the whole country would ditch daylight saving time.

Outback Porsche 03-07-2016 03:27 AM

I hate daylight savings. I live in a part of the world that doesn't partake in the activity, but silly bugger me chooses a job that has me awake an hour earlier than the rest of the the other silly buggers that live here. All because the minders want us to play nice with the rest of the country.

I suppose they pay me pretty well for the inconvenience, but one day I'd like to just say...fcuk 'em!

Less than 4 months to retirement training again.

Jim Richards 03-07-2016 03:30 AM

Retirement training is good!

We're going back into the desert for several weeks again. Mostly we'll be on our own, but it's quite amazing how many people are wandering around out there.

ckelly78z 03-07-2016 03:56 AM

Outback Porsche 03-07-2016 04:32 AM

Good Monday morning all.

I love daylight savings, and the time adjustment. It is so nice to have all the hours of daylight in the afternoon and light until 9:00 PM. Why sleep through an hour of daylight in summer. It is completely and totally logical and does indeed shift out activities to daylight hours.

The Bradford pear trees are blooming like crazy. They are pretty but the STINK. It has to be one of the worst smelling flowering trees. I was in the garage working all day Saturday and the stink of the trees was strong. Phew.

Porsche-poor 03-07-2016 06:15 AM

morning all. Nice and sunny here most of this weekend. Raining like mad right now.

We have 47 email users that were laid off. I typically convert a No Longer Employeed user mailbox to a shared mailbox so we can have archival access to their emails and it removes the exchange license. BUT they want to keep them as user mailboxes just in case they need access to their computer because the found they cannot access computer with login of shared mailboxes. Told them all I have to do is convert them back to user mailboxes and everything is fine, but they don't want me to. So we are going to have to money up for a years worth of licenses for people that have been laid off to save money! Because they are going to full office for everyone thats $13K! Why?

Just bugs me when I see them throwing money out to window just because they are lazy.

flipper35 03-07-2016 09:52 AM

Why do they need to use the user name of the person laid off to access the computer? You have AD?

RKDinOKC 03-07-2016 10:28 AM

Shhhh, to access someones desktop files they need that person's AD login.

flipper35 03-07-2016 10:38 AM

Or an admin can just look at it remotely on the C$ share. Locally too for that matter.

Have to do a disciplinary action paperwork today. Been putting it off.

GH85Carrera 03-07-2016 10:44 AM

My wife decided some of my older underwear was not worthy of keeping. I just get em broke in good and she throws em away. :(

I was forced to purchase more today. I made a quick run to the mall, but not the mall experience. I know the back way in and the far corner of the mall is Dillard's men's department. I can take 20 steps or so and get the underwear. I figured I might as well get some more jeans so one pair of jeans was purchased. I was out of there in under 10 minutes and never went more than 50 feet into the one store. Hopefully I will be set for another few years.

RKDinOKC 03-07-2016 10:44 AM

You mean if their supervisor want's to check out their files the supervisor could just be given access to remotely access their stuff. No way. You can't do that. They have to sit down at the user's computer and login as the user to access the user's files.

RKDinOKC 03-07-2016 10:47 AM

I get my BVD's from that fancy french place...Targét. Makes me feel fancier than if I get the same brand at Walmart. That just makes me feel cheap.

flipper35 03-07-2016 10:48 AM

Agreed if it just the supervisor. We have to have someone supervise the supervisor in that case. If the person is permanently gone then we move all the local files in case there needs to be access to them. All the data on any of the work computers is not private data here.

Glen, our local mall is like that. Walk in one store and be done if that's all you need.
