Richard. This is what your car would look like if it had the engine installed.
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...afe459977c.jpg Sorry i just had to. ;) |
Close, but that's not a GTS, has a black interior, and rub strips. But hey, evidently it runs and drives, that's a big plus.
|
Morning all. two days then I'll be silent for a long time unless the hotel has wifi.
|
Have used my cell phone for a hot spot even when hotel provided wifi because they blocked my VPNs to either home or work. Found out later their web based network authentication stuff messed up a bunch of other settings too. Just don't understand that kind of network security for free wifi. It's just too easy to setup a firewall correctly even with web based logins to allow dhcp addresses to pass.

The GTS has flared rear fenders and the rear wing is the same color as the body.
I still like the pretty blue though. Can't tell if it's the same blue as mine, looks really close. It's been too long since I've seen it in the sunlight. I also know that several have gotten paint codes from me to paint their 928 the same color. http://www.zipbang.com/928gts/928gtsfront.jpg There is a Cobalt Blue that is just a tiny bit lighter and doesn't have the purple in it like the Iris Blue Metallic. |
Richard, that 928 had a blue interior, and if it was not your color it was real close. It is a 928 S4.
The engine bay was super clean. There was a 1986 911 Turbo that was Grand Prix White in the Concours. It had just under 16,000 miles. It is a shame to have a cool car like that and never drive it. |
That's why I could never own a real collector car. The only reason I'm not driving mine is that it is in the shop. However, I've had the Cayenne for 2 years this month and have only put 7,000 miles on it as my daily driver/only running car. And that includes 2 vacation trips. Getting close to that "Old lady only drives to church on Sundays" mileage.
My Grandmother got a new 1965 Ford Galaxy 500. It was a 4 door hot rod. She actually did only drive it to Church on Sundays. It was only 5 blocks away. Once a year we had to take her car in and get a new exhaust put on it because the dual exhaust never got hot and rusted out. Looked like this... http://www.zipbang.com/Cars/65galaxie5000.jpg |
That is like Mrs. Carrera. She has a 2008 year car she bought new. It has 33,000 miles. It is in great shape, but no concours winner.

Mornin' all. |
I did not feel like making all those people go blind if I went into the water without a bathing suit.

When 4 went with my Mom to stay for a few weeks with my SIL in GA when my Nephew was Born. Bro was Marine stationed in Brunswick. Their Apt was on St Simons island. Went to the beach a lot. Took off my shirt and shorts so I wouldn't get them wet and just wore my underwear when I did. Went on 3 dates with the little girl next door (her parents drove) so must have been stylin. Her name was Jenny and she was an older woman, she was 5.

Just saw where Mecum in Portland just sold a 75 914 1.8 for $13K US. It was white with a black interior. The announcers called it a VW Porsche.
|
Less than 9 hours to go then vacation!!!!
|
Burp. We just got back from the Zone 5 PCA party. Back to the condo, dump off the hat and sunglasses and get back to a President's party. We will represent our region. Tough duty, but someone has to do it.

They were marketed as a VW-Porsche in Europe. Only the very early 914s were marketed that way in the USA. |
It was not a euro version and it was a 75.
|
Burp. Back from that party.
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...0db725ed3e.jpg The parking lot at our condo unit. I don't think there are enough condos to have just one per car so multiple cars per unit. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...a02ba0c5b6.jpg From the other direction. |
If you have more than one are they called Caymans?
|
Caymen, of course.
