Well the first day on the new job and I am having a very hard time believing they are actually paying me to do this. Gonna suck when I wake up and find I am back working on the line again.

Club has to provide insurance.

Supposedly the cars have to be kept under 60 mph, so the course has to be designed with that in mind. Imagine penning a course that's interesting for both a 997 GT3 or Turbo, as well as a 911 SC at the same time, but also doesn't allow the faster cars to top 60 mph.

I was pretty sure they did..

Where did you read or hear that it's under 60 at ET?

porsche4life 11-15-2010 09:44 PM

Under 60!? What kind of pansy BS is that? I've done 60 into chicanes out here...

Hey, young Jedi, not all of us have well set-up 944s at our track disposal.

Best of luck tomorrow.

Morning guys...
busy busy, ugh....

It seems we have hade some major floodings here due to heavy rain....
I know because Glen asked me about it yesterday.... (That was not why I was late :))
This all happened without me having a clue.... I don't watch the news that often.

I didn't think a tv would float.

Noah930 11-15-2010 10:01 PM

Ya hafta admit, a floating big screen would be awesome for the pool or beach, though.

Well, I can assure you, that even though my speedo is reading 5MPH fast, we were well over that. :D

RKDinOKC 11-15-2010 11:35 PM

Because of PCA insurance limits we try to setup courses that limit the top speed to 100mph. Some of the quicker cars have gotten to 115mph.

This was not fun to read before I have had any coffee. <shiver>:D

G-Man I hope that was not your basement in the picture.

I am guessing it's not your basement since you did not know about the flooding until I asked.

Good morning all! Time for my second cup of coffee!

Geronimo '74 11-16-2010 05:04 AM

Not my basement Glen, or you would see me in the pic, wearing scuba gear and diving for my 7 and 9's....

I did hear about some flooding here and there but it was much much worse than I realized... worst flooding in 20 some years....
Material damage is huge.
Three or four people died.

My day is almost done, one last cup of coffee and then time to hit the road.

GH85Carrera 11-16-2010 05:13 AM

Flood damage is the worst. Most folks don't have flood insurance.

Around here most of the deaths from flooding is because morons drive into the running water and get washed off the road.

Geronimo '74 11-16-2010 05:20 AM

I believe floods are insured together with fires, in most insurance packages...
They will call this flood a national disaster so funds will be available for anyone that has suffered damage, like farmers who lost their crops and stuff...

Floods that wash cars of the road are rare over here. They tend to be small scale, especially compared to what I see from other parts of the world... We're just not very used to them.

porsche4life 11-16-2010 05:41 AM

I don't have much concern about floods.... Weatherford is built on a hill.... As is my parents house. Both of them are several hundred feet higher than any of the nearby water sources.

GH85Carrera 11-16-2010 05:48 AM

Yea, I am not worried about a flood at my house. We had 12 inches of rain in 24 hours this spring. The low lying areas flooded but we had no problem at all.

I helped a friend clean up some damage from a flood once. It is stinky dirty work.
