Yeah, it was pretty lame :(

Most people just scrap the air suspension on those era rovers for a standard coil/shock rig. Check Roversnorth for a kit. The air crap is just that...

Rovers North - Land Rover Parts at the Best Prices - PRO COMP SHOCK SET OF 4 - DEFENDER, DISCO I, RRC STANDARD LENGTH

Like that or would he need some springs too?

Sorry I'm piss ignorant on this, I've never even seen the beast, its been out of service since before we met. I stupidly volunteered to help.

Hey, I thought this episode of TGUSA wasn't too bad. The blind drifters seeing eye dog pissing on stage at the end was pretty good. You can't tell me that dog doesn't go on cue either. The hosts are even developing some personality ie., Mr. Clutch. The hosts need some time to develop the banter everyone enjoys from the BBC hosts.

Sidney — check out the forums at rangerovers.net for the model you are working on. If you are going to replace the bags you might as well do shocks, springs, and the bits to correct the geometry to raise the ride height 3 or 4" and fit some bigger rubber. There are also some guys using the air bag pump as an on-board air station to air the tires back up after airing down for off-roading.

Will do. I'm not sure what he is wanting to spend or even what the specific problem is. I need to go look at it sometime.

Guess I don't have to watch it now... ;) Spoiler!

Night Ladies... I'm off to watch TG.... :/

Rick V 11-29-2010 12:22 AM

Morning guys. Just woke from my 7 hour nap.
I need coffee

slodave 11-29-2010 12:23 AM

Back to our regularly scheduled Rick...

Rick V 11-29-2010 12:34 AM

For now. I am trying to get a few things to settle before they fall apart again.

slodave 11-29-2010 12:40 AM

Prop it up and shove some sticks under... ;)

Geronimo '74 11-29-2010 12:43 AM

G-man. Keep the snow and ice on your side of the pond. Rick & I are allergic to the frozen water stuff.

It was a fantastic 4 day weekend. It was almost HOT on occasions.

Dave, I am a big fan of the the Zepp, but that drum solo is a little LONG. I have "How the West Was Won" (and all the other Zep albums) as part of my in car music collection. When the drum solo comes on I just skip to the next song.

You said it's a 97 right? So, it's a P38 RR?
You'll want this
LAND ROVER PARTS - P38A COIL SPRING CONVERSION KIT - STANDARD
Ideally, he'd just drive it off a cliff or sell it to some homey wanting a lowrider though. The P38's are riddled with issues. Barring those two options, that kit is what will be needed. Proline makes some decent quality stuff, I'm running several PL parts on my Series without a problem. Buying the Rover OEM kit would just be a waste of $200.

porsche4life 11-29-2010 06:30 AM

Driving it off a cliff isn't out of the question. He just needs something to get to class in, his GF is getting tired of driving him everywhere. So that kit covers all of it? Or would we need the shocks too?

No just more sticks

slodave 11-29-2010 02:12 PM

Hehe!

A good friend of mine at work brought me a 12-case of Four Lokos for my birthday today. He picked em up in OK, as they are non-existent in Kalifornia as of last week.

I'm 1 down tonight, tried my skills at Gran Turismo. I though I was doing rather well. But hte lap time says it all. Zonda R, Nurburgring, ran a 7:25. Compare that to yesterday when I ran a 6:41.

Ten percent difference, from 1 tall boy drink.

porsche4life 11-29-2010 07:18 PM

What the fascination with this 4Loco stuff?

I really wish I had the time to play some Forza
