That big open hole in the top is so she can carry really tall plants or small trees.
Well, $250 was cheapest 2GHz Win10 laptop i could find. Ended up with a new Dell. Used or refurbished was within $25 so didn't think would be worth the savings. Everything cheaper was only 1.1 GHz. Checked ebay, if included shipping was just as cheap to just go pick one up at Bestbuy so that's what I did. The help I got at bestbuy was useless. That guy had zero idea about any of the laptops. Basically had to check the processor speed on heat one my pulling up the about screen then compare the prices of what i found fast enough. Really pissed me off that bestbuy had a big sign saying processor speed was the most important thing in picking a laptop and then you had to manually check each laptop for it's process speed. |
After opening and setting up this cheap Dell, I must say. the difference between a cheap Dell Laptop and an expensive MacBook Pro is huge. Took it over an hour to get up-to-date and delete all the carp demo freaking programs that keep popping up notifications annoy me about how they will help somehow.

Good Morning.
At least it's Friday. That cheap laptop don't talk to the Cayenne either. |
Yea, Bestbuy is just a place to get something because you need it NOW.
The last time I was in a Bestbuy looking at what computers were available a "salesman" was talking to an older couple and he was spouting pure gibberish. He was just saying the technobabble and the couple was just nodding their heads. I buy a lot of pieces and parts from Amazon, and the last three laptops. When building a system I usually go to NewEgg. It is amazing to me that our little company now has 11 computers all running Win 10 pro. |
Morning all. TGIF! or is it TGIO?

Hey Brent, there is an article in today's paper about the sand plant expanding in Southard. Mining sand for the oil industry. They have a lot of sand in the area.

Have a cousin named Sandy. She works for the NSA as does her husband.

Whooo Hooo!
My new pair of shoes arrived. Ahhhh. The first thing I do is open the 4E shoes was wide as they stretch and shove my foot in and pull the shoe strings from the bottom to get them wider. When done, as usual with all shoes there is just enough shoestring left to tie in a standard bow. It is a little bow, but they tie. No one makes long enough shoe strings. I am sure all the skinny foot folks wonder why the shoestrings are so crazy long. I will order 4 more pair of the shoes today just to get them in stock so they don't stop production on me again and make me use some other brand. |
Gots me some 4E foots for most shoes. Don't get tennis shoes though, I like low cut hikers. Mostly because it was too difficult to find wide enough tennis shoes. The laces on the hikers are way too long. Figured it was some kind of Made in China thing to make those ugly Americans trip. The a custom shoe fitter showed me how to use the extra eyelets that are too far back and that uses up more lace.

The laces on my boots are long enough that I make a half square knot, wrap them around the top of the boot and then tie them. Works great in the winter to keep snow out. Summer doesn't make a difference other than it can keep water out.
There was a girl I started on IT stuff here and she now works for the NSA. |
Called Durametric support and had to pull a fuse from the dash, then put it back in after 10 minutes. Now it works.
Didn't have to do that with Glen's laptop. |

Will see. I plugged in the numbers from the actual measured height so it raised back up to the stock setting. Now measures exactly 190mm front, 238mm rear. It was at 159, 164, 213, 217. That 5mm lower on the left side bugged the beegeebus out of me.
Haven't had time to lower it yet. Lowered the S 35mm front and 45mm rear. Think will go 30/40 and see how that works. This afternoon/evening my att internet went all wonky and finally wenr off this evening. Got to looking and it had switched over to all IP6 and their IP6 DNS no worky. Finally after cycling the modem off several times I got the IP4 to come on long enough to disable IP6. Now it seems to work fine again. Called att support and it seems to be a common att problem. For something that was supposed to be the new standard 10 years ago, it still don't work. Guess when we get gigabit it will just fail faster. |
Kinda funny just after my cousin Sandy got married she stayed with her new husband on uncle Ralph's farm. Ralph is a real country boy that talks really slow and drawn out with just a bit of a drawl. Sandy had married a New Yorker and talks really fast. Her new husband commented that uncle Ralph talks so slow that by the time he finishes saying good morning to you at breakfast, it's time for lunch.

An old geezer reflected in the wheels of a Porsche older than the geezer! It is such a cool car. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6454232249.jpg When Peter Porsche offers to buy it, it is cool. He did not offer enough. He does not need the money. |
Nice nav screen in the center of the dash. :D

Yea, that is the original tube based AM-SW radio that has to warm up to play.
After the car show I got time to work on the Elky AC. Coming home from the airport on Friday it would not COLD, just cooler. So out came the gauges and it was a little low. Now it blows massive amounts or 38 degree air. In a 4 mile test drive my face was starting to hurt because of the cold. I love it. The I mowed the yard. No so much fun. Now back to work. The jerk boss has me working on the project I flew yesterday. I will be working on it all weekend. Or the computer will be. |
Damp morning so far. At least it’s not cold.
I spent yesterday afternoon scraping old sound deadening material out of the Z. I still have a lot more to do. I want to clean up all the surface rust and repaint the interior prior to putting down new sound deadening material. |
Golly dealing with the federal government is fun.
I have to get in my time machine and go back to the 1980s, and send a FAX to the FAA control tower in a controlled airspace we need to fly in tomorrow. They even tell us, the best way to get them to cooperate is to FAX them, and then they will call the pilot. Of course, most every time we do all that, and get the manager's permission and all the controllers on board for what we need to do, they have a shift change and no one has any notes for the new crew. So we get turned away and start over. They don't have a simple direct phone number to call and discuss it with a logical human. We have to go through the time machine, send a FAX and then come back to the current time and use a cell phone to talk to whoever is on duty at the moment. Evidently that are not allowed to use a simple post it note for the next guy on duty. |

Car spotting in CA is always fun. Saw lots of expensive iron, but this took the cake. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1526866367.jpg |
