My dad died many years ago. I still get retirement home, hearing aid, investment opportunities and lots from organizations he belonged to. If it is address to him, it just goes straight to the trash unopened.

My parents grew up in an era when looking through the Sears catalog was endless hours of dreaming of ordering things, Sears sold everything from guns, toys and of course clothes. They grew up poor, so mostly it was a dream. In the years of retirement they ordered lots of stuff from catalogs, and that brings more catalogs. At Christmas time they would get 20 or 30 catalogs per week. Dad bought a huge mailbox for the front porch since they were in an old neighborhood and got mail at the door. They knew the mailman and gave him a nice tip at Christmas.
I used to get crazy amounts of catalogs after I changed his mailing address to my address. I still get a lot and I never order from them. I am from the future, I order on-line via the internet. I did have fun with the local ambulance company. He paid (as do I) a "fee" on the city water bill for EMT service. If an ambulance is called, that takes care of any fees for the ambulance ride. He and my mom both used it several times near the end. After the estate was closed, the courts said all is done and any claims against the estate are now moot, it was all over. A couple of YEARS later the ambulance company tried to collect. Ha, yea right. They had been paid. I enjoyed in telling one of the collection guys dad's plot number at the cemetery. It was a pure scam. |
my uncle had a similar experience with my grandmother. He kept getting calls from an insurance guy says in that if she didn't get in soon for her physical she would be out of coverage. He finally got fed up and told the guy to meet him at an address. When the guy showed up my uncle handed him a shovel and said lets go dig her up. They were just outside the cemetery.

We keep getting junk mail for my deceased mother-in-law. Lots of companies want to give her credit cards. Go figure.

Hey, its FRIDAY.
69 degrees and pretty weather here. Yesterday's flight was an all messed up temperature wise. It was 88 degrees when we took off. Down to 80 at altitude. When we landed 2.6 hours later it was 65. WTF? The front came through as we were on the project. There was a T-6 Texan II from Vance AFB doing touch and goes at the airport we use. Cool looking toy! He did 8 or 10 touch and goes. He would land, go around, and do it again. It sounded cool, and looked good. It sure moves out from the runway. In the middle of all it a 152 with instructor and student took off. It looked like he was in slow motion compared to the T-6 Texan II https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beechcraft_T-6_Texan_II Evidently the Air Force uses them as a trainer before the pilot gets to fly a jet. |
mourning all. TGIF!!!!!

Would give it a TGIF, except Skype for Business when down this morning.
In my dealings with they guy that picked Freshstart...does not consider user interface and is easily distracted from the actual need by anything flashy. It looks like the system could keep inventory, but is so confusing and not setup for it. Some of our users have boxed copies of Office, Project, etc, some we use 365. But not using any sort of deployment and licensing tracking. Seems to be done by whim. |

It was on Skype's end. After trying all sorts of stuff opened a trouble ticket.
Took about an hour for support to call, but when they did, skye magically worked with no problems. I even did the Microsoft trouble shooting app for Skype and it couldn't authenticate. After their call the Trouble Shooting App found no problems. Support never admited to doing anything. Have been trying to get my VPN to let me access a new authentication server for over a week now. Turns out in setting it up the network guy changed the VPN server. It now requires you to route all your network traffic thru the VPN server. That chokes my download speed from almost 100mbps to 14mbps. OUCH. Does the same thing on my PC. When I controlled our firewall/vpn router, I set it to only route for specific IP address ranges so you would NOT have to route everything thru it. Yikes, very lazy network guy if you ask me. Going to make a virtual mac on my Fuzion and have it do all my mac VPN stuff. That will keep the speed up on my regular mac. I can even share a printer from my virtual mac so I can print on a printer at work thru the VPN from an app on my host mac. That way I won't be slowing down my regular mac's network. |
Glen has been flying a lot lately...seen one of these?
https://thechive.files.wordpress.com...rip=info&w=300 Maybe it's just a bra for the woman that needs more than an underwire? Wearing gold shorts she could be a TWA, the proud bird with a golden tail? Too old a reference? Or if she were prego and showing she could be a jumbo jet? |
Interesting aircraft, Richard.
It’s 100% cloud cover this AM, but no rain in the forecast. Oh well. |
I am pretty sure her pilots wings will never fit in the cockpit.

Phew. The jerk low life boss made me stay up and work until 2:10 am on Thursday. Friday was up at 7:00 Am and work at the computer until 3:00 Pm. Then today I spent several hours today working on projects. And not one minute of overtime pay. The cheap bastage.

What a horrible boss! :D
