Yep, actually practiced printing very neatly. That is all I did my first week in my new job in the drafting/graphic arts department.

Doing pencil on vellum gave me an aversion to getting food on my hands, eating or preparing.

Good Hump day morning. I am finishing up a project for a client. Exactly what they ordered. 2 Inch pixel resolution, which is very high res and makes silly big files of the roadway project we flew for them. It is a 3.8 GB tiff file, the point cloud LAS file is 5.2 GB and has just 159 million points. The DSM file is just 3.6 GB. And they finally get sent, and the client says it chokes his computer. The surveyor client is using a Win XP system with 4 GB of RAM. WTF! I had to bite my tongue to not tell him to go buy a modern computer with Win 10 Pro and at a minimum, I7 or I8 CPU and 32 GB of RAM. He is trying to run at Le Mans in Herbie the Love bug, and Herbie is dead so it's just an old bug. Grumble Grumble.

Oh and does not have up to date software so he can't even open the compressed versions of files like JPEG2000 files. I have to make a PNG because JPEG and TIFF both can't handle files that big. Grumble Grumble.

Even Win 7 Pro 64 bit would help.

We can't use Win 10 Pro at work, has to be at least Enterprise. Stinkers. Most of the functionality we have in Win 7 Pro is not in Win 10 Pro, but it is in Enterprise. I hate Microsoft's business practices.

Yea, the multiple "levels" of Win 10 is annoying. We have 11 computers. All of them are pure peer to peer, Win 10 Pro 64 bit. Only the tablet-laptops are less than 32 Gig. One of the "laptops" that is HUGE is an Ailenware giant. Twin video cards, 32 gig RAM and three SSD hard drives. It does impress clients when we go to their office or meeting room and do a dog and pony show.

The Surface tablets we use in the airplanes are just 12 Gig. But that is plenty to run the camera systems.

As another left-hander, I understand completely. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...eys/paddel.gif

Maybe you all should write in a different language? Some go right to left or right side top to bottom over to the left.

RKDinOKC 11-07-2018 01:54 PM

It is an afternoon as far as I can tell.

Have always been right handed. If it think about it I can sign my first name with my left hand, and my last name with my right hand both at the same time. It kinda makes my head hurt though.

Should be even for those left handers here for the last couple hours.

An early good morning.

I am not into wine, but isn't it easier to just get the bottle?

GH85Carrera 11-08-2018 05:43 AM

Yea, I don’t care for wine, but were those glasses all undrinkable and you could not finish or was it a wine sampler?

It is going to turn into winter soon. Supposed to have our first freeze this weekend.

Buenos Dias, y’all

The 928 GTG this past weekend takes it's Saturday tour though Texas wine and distillery country an hour West of Austin. The group always stops at a couple and do the wine tasting thing. Always see cases being stowed in people's cars as they leave one. The stops and wine tasting makes sense to me after lunch. It's those stops with "tasting" at 9:30am that feels strange. Guess it makes sense, the group basically starts drinking after they check in on Friday, after dinner a parking lot party goes to the wee hours, then repeats after the tour. Never seen anyone drink too much though.

One year one of the wineries had a big shindig going on with live music and a punkin chunkin with a big trebuchet. At the Vodka distillery one of the wives was trying to get everyone to buy tastes of the different Vodkas so she could get their cute little mason jar glass. Don't know how many she ended up with, but it was a bunch of them.

Morning all. Migraine got me down yesterday. Recover today and quit burning it at both ends.

flipper35 11-08-2018 11:25 AM

Looks like samplers but the big question is if Jeff shared them with his better half?

Porsche-poor 11-08-2018 12:59 PM

I'm betting not.

A tasting selection to have with lunch ;)

Ended up drinking half the selection before the food arrived :D

Oh, and I wasn’t allowed to not share.

Ack! I drove 255 miles in the 911 and the windshield wipers were on from the moment I pulled out of the garage until I got to the hotel.

Kinda dirty. :(

Porsche-poor 11-08-2018 02:11 PM

yeah it is the boss is going to kill you getting his car all dirty like that.

flipper35 11-08-2018 02:33 PM

Probably make him wash and wax it.
