I have been to the Coronado festival of speed a few times with my daughter, but have not been back for many years. Great weather for watching races.

We go to Road America now since we are close.

Blackhawk Farms is close but I have yet to get there.

Raced there a few times too, won the last race on that last Sunday in 2016.
Short track with wide and narrow areas, crowned runways and taxiways and concrete and asphalt surfaces.
This was Sunday morning from last because of a dead battery Saturday.
I was an air traffic controller at NZY and at SANT across the bay.
So airport racing is in my dna. lol

Before when I was in my 911 chasing an RSR that finished top 10 at Le Mans.
Were located just 15 minutes from NZY.

I owe you a couple beers in San Diego for watching the videos.
When the RSR driver missed a couple shifts on the back straight and drove that valuable car straight at a tire wall chicane with me next to him, I yielded. lol
He has many valuable Porsche race cars, fortunate to share the track with him. :)

We don't get out there very often any more. We were out a couple years ago so our daughter could have her senior pictures taken at a couple beaches and spent time with my wife's brother. He then passed away suddenly in August and we have no other family out there.

Glen is currently not able to log in. He will be on as soon as he can.

flipper35 11-15-2021 10:23 AM

We had a decent weekend, if a bit windy.

Who is trying to log on? :)

Porsche-poor 11-15-2021 10:24 AM

Glen is locked out and so is another person who is a moderator.

I am back!

I have no idea what happened. I would try yo log in, and it would just go right back to the log in page. I was about to go into full withdrawal DTs.

We went to Eureka Springs over the weekend.

On Veteran's day at the banquet, I happened to sit next to the father in this video.

The parents were there and they are both 25+ year veterans of the Air Force. This video is about their son. He was a Combat Controller. To be a Combat controller, one finishes the full Seal Training, Army Rangers training, full medical training to be an Air Force PJ, then has to be an Air Traffic Controller, and a communications expert. On every Seal mission or Ranger mission or Delta Force mission one Combat Control is there, he runs the communications with satellites and is the on site medic.

I had never heard of a Combat Control, and evidently there is only a small number of them since the training is so arduous. Their son is classified 100% disabled, and an amputee, even though he has he legs and feet. He can wiggle his toes, but has no feeling in his feet, and his ankles are now fused, and he says they are "angles". It was an honor to meet them.

Fine, his secretary will get right on that. First he needs to hire some 25 year old Swedish Bikini model to be the secretary, that is approved by the boss's wife.

I think his boss changed the password on him so he can get more work done.
