Day two of routinius interruptus continues. The house guest are actually great, and we are enjoying having them. Just my routine days are all interrupted. I will survive.

Wife emailed, they are installing fiber to the house out in no mans farm land.

We went downtown to the Bricktown area for lunch. We ended up at one of the high end places for some good food. I thought we were going to walk over to the canal boat tours but the guest lady did not want to do that because it was windy. OK, how about riding the street cars on the loop to see the new developments. Nope, we would have to wear masks for the entire time. OK, lets go back home.

Whatever.

The guests just left. Now I can fart at will again! And I get the guest bathroom back. It is in the middle of the house close to the guest bedroom. Most of the time the guest bedroom is empty. Since my office is just one of the bedrooms with no bed, just office equipment and my desk, it is way easier to use the guest bathroom for daily needs. I don't have to go to the garage or all the way through the master bedroom, and to the far corner of the house to that toilet.

There are a great couple and we do like them, but the way our house is laid out, guest make it a little bit more uncomfortable.

So, yesterday another delivery arrived while they were trenching the fiber. 600 pounds on a double length pallet and the delivery guy tried to use a pallet jack on the gravel part of the drive. The guy with the Bobcat filling in the dirt must have felt bad for him. The delivery driver took our tractor and ran a cable over the ball and to the jack and the Bobcat guy pushed from behind to get it into the garage.

We told the boy it was a surprise for my wife but he is responsible for the maintenance and chauffeuring her around in it. It is really for him but if he thinks it is hers he will take better care of it.

This is what we assembled last night. The kid loves all Jeeps. My wife loves old Jeeps. We have to put the stickers on it yet, the Army star and numbers.

Pelican sent me a survey on how I liked the service and the new parts I had ordered. I replied I had no clue, as I had not yet received the order. It was overdue. I received three emails in a row, and they are shipping out the order now. I guess the folks in the survey department went to the warehouse and asked why my order had not been shipped.

Wake up!

I guess David goes on vacation ans just abandons us as usual.

flipper35 04-08-2021 08:44 AM

Can't blame him!

Phew, having fun today. I got the yard edged and mowed again. It is really greening up, and it will soon be needing mowing once per week.

The boss's wife has had me plant three new trees this year. Two are back where the old trees were cut down, but the new one in the front yard is all new. It is yet another obstacle to mow around, and with the two other round tree rings, and one large rectangle flower bed there is almost no way to mow the front efficiently. It is all turns and obstacles, and lots more weed eating.

Oh the shame, the thread was on page THREE!

We had a good weekend. The last of Richard's watches sold, and those will go to the post office today.

Porsche-poor 04-12-2021 05:54 AM

I hope you avoided the yellow snow!

Watch out where the huskies go,
And don't you eat that yellow snow

I have that album, from 1974.

Porsche-poor 04-12-2021 07:58 AM

we avoided that as well. It never got above freezing while we were there. Got to see Denali, drove to Whittier thru the tunnel. But it was sure cold and windy while there.

GH85Carrera 04-12-2021 08:55 AM

Yea, go visit in late June or July. 18+ hours of sunlight and nice temperatures. If you have trouble sleeping when it is light out, bring a mask.

When we got to Denali area the hotel we stayed at had horse back riding as fun thing to do. We went out at 8:00 PM and got back at 11:00 and it was still light. It was comforting to see the lead and the sweep riders with large caliber rifles for bears. For some reason I never worry about grizzley bears around here. Our dogs have chased off all the buffalo, wolves, bears, and mammoths so those are not an issue.

flipper35 04-12-2021 08:59 AM

We only have black bear around here. AK is a state I still need to go see.

It is all cold and rainy here so it was probably nicer up there!

Porsche-poor 04-12-2021 09:06 AM

Its warmer today after we left than the entire time we were there. Didn't see any bears but the one wild moose that was inside the zoo fence.

GH85Carrera 04-12-2021 09:16 AM

Oklahoma has wild bears, mountain lions, and even alligators. Not in this part of the state, mostly southeast areas. We actually have virgin old growth forest. Never logged, not too far from Tulsa.

We have the "worlds tallest hill" at 998 feet. 1,000 feet is a mountain, and I have been to the top of the hill. Not much of a view as it is covered in trees and antennas.

Porsche-poor 04-12-2021 11:19 AM

Only wild life we saw were moose. The rest I think had booked flights for warmer places.

Porsche-poor 04-13-2021 05:27 AM

Morning all. Off to get the car looked after.
