The accidents I have seen lately have not been kind to the helmeted skier. In fact, the last accident I heard of in the states, the person with the helmet died. The person not wearing the helmet - same crash, survived. :)

I'll say it again. I've (now) got 36 seasons under my belt. Statistics are looking in my favor.

Morning Y'all. Anybody need some ice?

You've been lucky so far.
According to what I've read, over 50% of American skiers wears a helmet and the number of accidents with head injuries has declined with over 50% since 2000...
Helmets offer better protection at low speeds than at high speeds but in both cases always better than not wearing a helmet at all....
Strangly only the number of injuries went down, not the number of deaths....

I hope you calibrated that thing and maybe loose the rubber cover....;)

slodave 01-18-2011 12:29 AM

We will continue to be at a stale-mate on the subject. :) I respect your decision to wear a helmet.
BTW, as far as the decline... The hills are becoming more and more crowded (weekends and holidays). It's no wonder the accidents are declining.

As for calibration, yes, and that pic was a recreation. I forgot to take pix the day before. Ironically, cover and no cover, it was the same.

And I'll respect your decision not to wear one if you promise not to fall too often and too hard ;);)

Welcome back G-Man.

Good morning all.

I was working on an interesting project yesterday. A customer just bought a new ranch in southern Oklahoma. It is a very nice place, It is just under 9,600 acres. That is 15 square miles.

It would be interesting to find out how much he paid for that much property. He seems to be a really nice guy. He does not have an entourage. When you call he answers the phone.

Geronimo '74 01-18-2011 05:32 AM

Morning Glen.

please no score keeping...:)

porsche4life 01-18-2011 07:18 AM

Which side of southern OK? They are practically giving land away in the Southwest....

Over in the southeast it can be worth a little more.... I wonder if its the old Lindmark Land and Cattle ranch.... I know it was for sale...

GH85Carrera 01-18-2011 10:30 AM

It was in Johnston county. It looks like some good land from the aerials we shot. He wants us to fly it again in the spring when things are green and growing.

Rick V 01-18-2011 01:29 PM

Evening guys. Another one in the books.
