That California storm gets here a few days later, and likely most of the rain has been dropped, so we just get some wind.

Glen you said your car is set to Euro height correct? Can you post a picture from the side and also measure the wheel well from the ground up?

Current side view with the 17 inch Euromiester fake Fuchs and 225/45-17 fronts and 255/40 rears.

I will measure the wheel well to ground height tomorrow.

Porsche-poor 02-06-2024 05:59 AM

Morning. Thanks Glen. I think it looks about the same. I always thought it was a tad low.

GH85Carrera 02-06-2024 06:12 AM

It is 26 inches from the top of the fender to the ground. One wonderful thing about the 17 inch wheels and bigger tires is I can go in and out of the standard gas station parking lot and not scrape at all. With the 15 inch tires it was a real challenge to get in or out of my own driveway with a passenger in the car. I have skid protection plates that hang down from the front of the torsion bars. They take the scraping and keep the car from any damage.

Now, unless I have a full tank of gas, a passenger and loaded with luggage for a two week vacation for two, I have no problems getting in or out of my driveway.

Porsche-poor 02-06-2024 06:14 AM

I think I have the 15" wheels. So yep I have issues with lots of driveways.

GH85Carrera 02-06-2024 07:30 AM

Just go read the sidewall of the tires. It will say what size they are. 15s were common on the SC and early Carreras. I really love the look and performance of the 17s. The only downside is they are indeed more mass, and acceleration is indeed a bit less, but cornering and braking is massively improved. Just the ability to buy good summer performance tires that work great in the rain or dry is a big plus.

I was having to by tires designed for minivans for my last set of 15s.

If I remember I'll look tonight after work.

This is the old 15s from 17 years ago in 2007 when I was doing the AC upgrade project.

This is from the week I bought it back in 1995.

I really like the look of the current wheels and tires.

I found this one I took a few years ago on the way to Parade. As you can tell I think its lower than it should be.

GH85Carrera 02-06-2024 09:56 AM

Yea, that is low. The only real way to measure ride height is the suspension settings. The tech forum has all those details.

Porsche-poor 02-06-2024 10:04 AM

I'll have the shop look at it while they have it and probably get them to set it at Euro height at least.

Porsche-poor 02-07-2024 06:47 AM

Morning all. I didn't get a chance to measure the car last night. Maybe tonight.

GH85Carrera 02-07-2024 07:50 AM

Dang, Bank of America is going to close my account. Since I don't have an account with them, I did not even open the email.

I get so tired of the stupid scam emails. And constant offers to help us do my business do videos. We don't do any videos, weddings, family photos. Just still aerials and mapping data for surveyors.

Porsche-poor 02-07-2024 08:00 AM

Send them a huge file and ask them to make it move.............

GH85Carrera 02-07-2024 09:17 AM

We kinda do that. We shoot everything in 3D. Everything except the obliques. The data we can extract from the 3D data is in a format that we can do a "fly through" of the images. We can go to a particular building and show what a vantage point from the top of the building could see. We can show what a flood of water would cover, and to what point. It is some really cool stuff. One customer is the police force of a small part of the Oklahoma City area. They do training of "worst case" situations.

If a sniper was in a building, what could they see, and where are his blind spots so they could set up surveillance. All the things that we all hope will never happen, they have to train for the possibility.

Goes from mid 20s in the morning to near 50 in the daytime right now. No precipitation for now!

Almost motorcycle weather.

The Cobra leaked so bad in rain I never used the top and it took 30 minutes to attach anyway. Wipers are in the trunk. Gotta have them, so I have them.

GH85Carrera 02-08-2024 04:59 AM

We have a possible snow forecast for Sunday. Maybe a few inches, maybe just a dusting. I am voting a dusting or none. It has been really nice to go outside with no coat or even a jacket. I hate wearing a coat, and only do it when necessary.

Porsche-poor 02-08-2024 06:02 AM

Morning all. Well I hope you get just a dusting or nothing. Lots of places need the snow for summer water but its not fun to have in the low lands.

GH85Carrera 02-08-2024 07:22 AM

The Rockies are getting hammered. Mu nephew live in Tabernash, CO. He dives a snow plow in this time of year. It is many feet deep in snow now, and he loves it. He loves playing on his snowmobile. He helps the snow patrol and goes with them, and to even go, you have to be a very advanced snowmobiler. It sounds like hell to me, but he moved there to get snow.
