That was almost a year ago. I'll have to get a new one up.

Morning dudes!

David, for a twelve year old kid, I think he plays very well.
I bought a guitar once, after five years I was still playing the same three chords.... didn't help I was a lefty playing on a righthand guitar either.
I sold it, my musical talent also limited to operating my Ipod....

Only a half day for me folks. We have a New Years dinner at noon, and also a bit of a going away party for the secretary.
Sad to see her go, I always like to tease her a little (in good fun), now I'll have to find a new victim....
But hey, I'll be home early.

New years dinner at noon, on the 20th? What calendar do you use?

Geronimo '74 01-20-2011 09:09 PM

It's our 2012 dinner. We like to start early....:D:D

No, at work they always seem to do this second half of January. It's a very big thing, all the people that are involved with the project are invited. All the partners, subcontractors, suppliers...
And hopefully some women... ;)

Is this some sort of weird Belgian tradition or just normal for your office?

BTW, I'm celebrating Chinese New Year Feb 3rd this year. But at least I'll have a billion or so others celebrating with me (in spirit).

Geronimo '74 01-20-2011 09:23 PM

Probably not a Belgian tradition, but maybe it is for the construction sector.
We have two weeks off at the end of the year. Usually one week before and one after the end of the year. So these dinners are usually the second week of January when everybody is back in the office. Except workers, they are not invited, dunno why, that's just the way it is.
Guess we're running a little late this year, since it is already the 20th.

slodave 01-20-2011 09:25 PM

Wait, no workers? How are you attending? Going to crash it?

Noah930 01-20-2011 09:25 PM

Hmm. We typically hold them sometime in December, a week or two before Christmas.

I have an office job (white collar, not blue), workers need to get their hands dirty, I don't.... :)

slodave 01-20-2011 09:33 PM

But without them, all you'd have are a bunch of drawings. :D

Geronimo '74 01-20-2011 09:37 PM

LOL, very true, they actually do the work.
Don't know why they're never invited, don't think it is because they're not appreciated.
Most of them wouldn't come anyway, even if they were invited...

slodave 01-20-2011 09:39 PM

No free booze?

Geronimo '74 01-20-2011 09:43 PM

Yes free booze, all is payed for by the project director, but that doesn't mean he's gonna pay to get a few hundred worked drunk... :)
I'm driving so no booze for me.

porsche4life 01-20-2011 10:29 PM

Free Booze!? I'm there! I didn't even get a buzz on tonight...

Geronimo '74 01-20-2011 10:53 PM
