I get to deal with afternoon rush hour to make it an appointment later today.
|
I gtt my alternator back. He even gave me the old parts. Now to get my fan and the ring that goes around it. It was just an hour total drive time for the round trip.

Yesterday the pond pump was surging due to all the ice from the cold weather. The ice made the water low. The boss's wife had me out there smashing through some of it, to put in the pond heater. The ice was 1/2 an inch thick there by the pump. I felt like the Hulk, Glen smash! I had to smash a hole big enough to get the heater in the water. It sank to the bottom, and I plugged it in. Hopefully we can unplug it soon.
Today there is a large area ice free around the pond heater. I bet the fish are happier. We also have a water tray in the back yard that is plugged in, to keep it from freezing. There were several bluebirds, robins and other birds getting a drink. It has to be hard to find a decent source of water for birds with much of the water frozen. There was even two squirrels getting a drink. We have a bird feeder in the front yard, but not much activity there. We only feed the birds in winter when it is hard for birds to find food. It will be snowing tomorrow according to the forecast. |
No freezing water here.

A light band of crap came through, and turned the sidewalks and curbs white on the north side of the street. The south side driveways stayed just wet as they had more sun warming yesterday. It is just 31, and it was a light band. More is coming for sure. Dang white crap falling from the sky!
Still, it is a 1000% better than California. All those homes burned, entire neighborhoods and lots of nice collectable cars are gone. |
Looking out the window I would say 5 or 6 inches of white crap on the ground. Grumble grumble curse word curse word and profanity. I have not set foot outside, and the dogs are likely ready to pop trying to avoid going out.
|
The falling crap is over, now we just have to wait for the crap on the roads that turned to ice overnight to melt off. I was informed that the boss's wife wants me to transport her to PT this afternoon in my El Camino. It does OK for an old car with no ABS or traction control, but I feel sure her Macan with 4 wheel drive and a snow button on the central column would do better.
The big difference in she does not want to get her car dirty, but it is OK to get my car dirty. I have to wash the cars either way. |
Wife and I went to the DaVinci immersive art experience today. It was pretty cool.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1736639937.jpg

That does look pretty cool. He was defiantly a rare talent as an artist, and inventor.

The cold weather has made our central heat run a lot. They sucks moisture from the air. Our humidifier has been sucking up 4 gallons of water per day. It is just weird to thing we evaporated 4 gallons of water into the air in the house, and the indoor humidity is just 41% right now.

Morning all. Nice trip to the coast. @ hours seems to be my limit for riding/driving before its to painful.
|
Morning all. Today it PET scan day. Lets hope there are no surprises.
|
So your pets just scan ya?
Good luck on the scans. At least they don't hurt. |
That is true. Unless the nurse is no good with a needle.

My wife and I took the El Camino on a short round trip to historic Ft. Reno. I was established in 1874 to quell the Indians and imprison 32 Indians (First Americans now). It was a former site of a POW camp for WW2 prisoners. There are many graves of POWs that died there.
The sad news is that the USDA now owns the property, and they don't care about the fort. They have demolished many building and some others are in dire need or repairs. Another historic site that the wrong federal agency is in charge of. |
afternoon all. finally got past the update page

Morning. Possibly today. I see the doc at 1.

I "get" to mow the back yard today! Oh Goodie.
Mostly to pickup the leaves, and trim the Fescue. We are supposed to get to 58 today. Maybe 60 tomorrow. |
Lots of changed plans. The mower refused to start. I suspect the module or the carb. A few days ago I discovered the El Camino windshield squirters did not squirt. Grumble grumble, so I bought a new pump. It just sits underneath the wiper motor cover, and shoves up into it one aligned just right. Of course it is impossible to see, and hard to get into position. So I had to squat for an hour trying to get the new pump up into position.
The Boss's wife insisted we clean the Koi pond filters, as the F*****G Siberian front is come to visit. We will have over 100 hours of below freezing temps. It was 61 degrees and Sunny yesterday. The pond filters were cleaned, and all ready for cold weather. 30 minutes later I went to the recycle bin to throw out a plastic bottle and I noticed the pond pump was not pumping. It was about sunset, and I check the breaker in the garage, and it was in the tripped mode. I could not get it to turn off, to reset it. More cussing and that meant I had to replace a breaker. I was exhausted from squatting over the squirters, and the filter cleaning that requires moving paving stones and lots more squatting. The breaker replacement was a this morning project. I went to Lowe's and looked for a while until a employee actually showed up to help me find Type BR215 breaker compatible with breaker box. She cheated and used her employee app to punch in BR215 and it told her just where it was. I got that replaced and all is happy now with the pond and the sprinkler system, and most important the wife. Phew. |
