Avoid the east coast Washington. it is an armpit. If you want to see the mall or do the Smithsonian, I will tell you how to do it, and survive the experience.

Geronimo '74 02-16-2011 01:12 AM

That's Washington DC, why an armpit??
Leaving from Boston, We'll surely do NY.
Any nature reserves in your vicinity Rick?

Geronimo '74 02-16-2011 01:17 AM

Shenadoah National Park, anything to see there?

slodave 02-16-2011 01:20 AM

Bears, rattlesnakes.. The usual.

Rick V 02-16-2011 01:21 AM

Trees, lots and lots of trees.
Twenty Minute Cliff - elev. 2715' (Milepost 19.0)
Confederate Breastworks

Geronimo '74 02-16-2011 01:21 AM

Lol, we Belgians do not consider those as "the usual"... :)

slodave 02-16-2011 01:25 AM

Just don't look them in the eye and all will be fine.

Rick V 02-16-2011 02:00 AM

Round these parts we carry guns to deal with the 'usual"

Geronimo '74 02-16-2011 02:03 AM

I'll try to bring my guns on the plane... see how that works out.... :D

(don't own any even)

Rick V 02-16-2011 02:07 AM

Rick V 02-16-2011 02:24 AM

Good morning guys,

G-Man, Sid for sure lives in the middle of nowhere. RKD & I both live in OKC, about a mile apart. Oklahoma is a fairly young state. Oklahoma became a state on Nov. 16th 1907. Before that is was Indian Territory. Many of the oldest buildings in the state are at the Army forts that predate the state. The oldest public building was built in 1844. I am sure you see buildings all the time in Belgium that are centuries old.

We would love to see you come to town.

I am dreaming of a F1 weekend to Spa-Francorchamps. If that ever happens I expect some good tips on what to see and what to skip. It will not happen anytime soon.

Morning by the way. So whats the punishment for missing a few days? I'll be in Portland and not sure about internet access. The phone will be working but its a pain to deal with.

GH85Carrera 02-16-2011 07:05 AM

You need a better phone to keep up with us. No excuses. Look at Sid's post numbers. I bet a good portion are from his phone. Get with it David!

We have some old buildings...
This is Ghent (some of the buildings go back to the 1100's), awesome city, and surely on your to visit list if you come!

Don't wait too long before we lose the F1 races... regulations and laws make it difficult to keep the F1 races here.
Only thing that Spa has going for it is that it is such an awesome track, and loved by the drivers...

Glen lives in a big city in the middle of nowhere.... I just flat assed live in the middle of nowhere.... I can see two wind farms from my house though!

The only thing about OK that is certain? The wind is going to blow.... ALWAYS...

Geronimo '74 02-16-2011 08:28 AM

I just bought a heavy travel guide of the East coast. I'm gonna try to convince my buddy to visit LA too. Still too early, but boy am I excited already! :D

porsche4life 02-16-2011 08:30 AM

Rent a car in Boston, drive to LA, drive back to floriduh via OK, and you are good...

Time it right and you can hit an Autocross in OKC, I bet RKD will scare the piss out of ya in the GTS....

Geronimo '74 02-16-2011 08:33 AM

That would be a looooong drive and back....
Although the concept of a cross country road trip does not scare me. (and neither would Rich in the GTS ;))
