I have to go now.

As of this post, I have one left to make 20K. I'm not sure when I'll use it or for what purpose. Many have noticed that I have become somewhat bitter. I think I have and I think sitting on the forums day and night may very well have something to do with that. Draw your on conclusions as to why that may be.

I'm making some radical changes in my life. I will be selling off a lot of my accumulations and I'm going to leave cars as a major part of my life behind. Today I'm putting the final touches on a 914 GT project I've been doing for someone else since January. Yes, it's bit overdue and a lot of that has been plain ol' burn out and a lot of arthritis pain. You can see those pics in the 914 forum or the bodywork forum. I am no longer doing welding either.

Later on, the Carrera may go on the block. Perhaps that will be my last post in the 4 sale section. I've seen this coming for awhile, but I thought I'd try for the milestone. 9 years is enough.

So, feel free to take your shots at me, I'll read but not respond. If I do come back, it will be under another name and I've promised myself that won't be for some time, if ever. I will continue to post on some other forums just so I don't totally jones. But, since I don't have many posts on other forums I visit, it's unlikely I will ever do anything like 6 posts a day for 9 years anywhere ever again.

So long, it's been fun for the most part. And remember always, one monkey don't stop the show.

Peace.

Winners never quit.

;)

Best to you whatever you decide. I'd still love to meet up with you for a beer sometime, preferably before I depart CA in the coming weeks.

Thanks for the fish...1

Happy Trails Milt. May you find what you are looking for.

Hate to see you go. I always enjoyed seeing your work, whether on cars or wood. Enjoy.

rnln 08-06-2009 08:51 AM

milt,
what were you drinking last night?
Hope to see you again to show us some new body works.

VINMAN 08-06-2009 08:57 AM

Gogar 08-06-2009 08:59 AM

Good luck Milt/Zeke.

edgemar 08-06-2009 09:14 AM

Good Luck! Hate to see you go. Why not just come by a little less than not at all?

Just one more reason not to have post counters. :(

Best wishes, Zeke... you will be missed.

I've followed a lot of your posts, esp. tech stuff, and you've been a great contributor here, including helping me with some of my issues over the last few years.

Happy trails, and thanks for all you contributions.

Good luck. I took a hiatus away from here when I sold my Carrera and bought the WRX. After a couple of years and the purchase of the Turbo, I slowly eased back in. I don't help with the tech stuff as much, primairy because I have two kids now, and I don't have the need to wrench on the turbo like I did the Carrera.

Just don't be bitter.

Goodbye and best wishes. Enjoy your break, sounds like you will be making some changes both online and in the real world. Moving forward is usually good. But we will miss you.

Hopefully you'll decide that PPOT can fit in your "new" life and thus you return, under whatever name. Please do check your PM's from time to time so that people can reach you.

As for post 20,000, maybe save that for your possible return?

Aww C'mon, it doesn't have to be all or nothing. You can hang around just get rid of the cars and get some new hobbies.

I do agree with the Cars as needing to be moderated however. From where I sit seems cool and all that to be a "car guy" when you're younger but after awhile and the older you get it becomes time to move on to different, more accessible things.

I don't want to be the guy with all the cars and no GF or family. I know a few of the cool die-hards (no GF, no kids, no Wife just cars) and frankly they scare me.

Well, it sucks to see you go, but you've got to do what you've got to do. Enjoy the changes.

Milt...Zeke...who's counting? As for myself...I'll know, should the time come to split.

Good luck, and I'll miss you. SmileWavy

i'll miss you, too, milt. i took a year break the past year, had been 8 years for me. and i can easily understand the part about needing more off-line, less online life. you'll always have friends here to laugh with, to share, debate, argue, and hell..even yell with/back at..but still, and always, friends. my very best wishes for your new adventures..

May your metamorphosis be a good one.

slakjaw 08-06-2009 10:56 AM

Take care Milt!

I knew this day was coming, but that knowledge still does not help with the fact that this day sucks. I wish you luck with all your future endeavors Milt.

Maybe you will still respond to PM's?
