Wow! What does the engine look like? Also, what aftermarket sport seats are those?

Kurt, I believe these are 67S Recaro sport seats but need to get confirmation from the Seat Police. Engine is the real downer, it's an unknown quantity 69T motor with Webers.
here's what I posted over in Technical...ahhhh, I remember those days so fondly. ![]() It was hard to pass this car up, a 73T that is pretty much rust free that's been sitting for about 10 years. Was originally gemini blue (I think that's the right name for a medium metallic blue in 73) but the whole car was painted black before stored. Most of the paint is good, passenger side needs attention and panels weren't set with any great care. All fixable. As a one owner car, there is almost no evidence of IPO Syndrome. the downside is it's got something of a 69T motor with Webers, though there is a possibility, and a slight one, that the motor has been massaged a little. We'll see when I get it running properly...it was spilling gas out of a fuel line when I first saw it. I've got some definite plans for it. Sport seats have to go as do the Fuchs, bumperettes, mirror and a few other things. What would you do?

hi JR, no, not kidding. the seats are unsafe having no headrest, somewhere in the world an early S yearns for them and if I do well with them, I'll drive the car at break-even.
![]() the Fuchs are just flat. I've got a set of deep 6s I might use but also considering 6x7x15 cookie cutters with new 205/225 S03 rubber that isn't getting any younger, though stored properly. will most likely put a steel S front bumper on (already black to boot) and backdate the rear bumperettes and square mirror to round. Have a set of 73 tan seats in good shape to go in this but would like to put a GTS in it. key will be getting the motor and mechanicals up to par before that though.

Wait you are getting rid of the fuchs and the mirror? Say what? And my screen may be playing mind games with me but are those deep 6's?!?!

Tom, it's just an illusion, the wheels are flat sixes. They are in good shape with no curbing, so Al Reed could bring them back iwth just a polish and paint. I've always like cookies and will try fitment late today. The Paris-Dakar ride height needs attention.
Markus, Jeremy, while I tend not to do anything not reversible, a 73T with non-matching numbers motor is a great platform to create "your car." You won't see SC flares welded on, not even a ducktail, but a lightweight interior, S front bumper, wheels...are probably where I'm going to take it. My greatest personal challenge will be to keep it on the road, meaning just get it safe and drivable and then, drive it.

Very nice Shaun. I dig the seats, very period correct. Keep them, who needs head/neck protection?

Ahhh ze bumpers!
Neat resto project. Since it doesn't sound like the engine is original.... may all make for a good early longhood style rallye 911 project. Inspiration: ![]()

Schumi, good thoughts, but it's the E that's getting the full European Rallye treatment. Just need to get the shell down to bare metal for paint: hood, roof, decklid and cookie cutters will be Light Ivory, rest of body in Aga Blue with AB Cibie's mounted on the hood. Just no time to get it off the rotisserie, in fact I'm going to be buiding a 4-point dolly soon just to get it down for the winter.
this car is all about driving it. Really hope I can get the motor & carbs up to snuff...the rest is cake. project thread is here: New car, what would you do with it?
