Like Bacon?

For those who just cannot get enough theirs now http://bakonvodka.com/ to the rescue. Might have to pick some up just to try!

UconnTim97 08-08-2009 01:20 PM

Yikes... Unfortunately tough guys at bars will buy it.

I did have a bacon slab at a restaurant a few weeks ago. It was basically a bacon steak served as an appetizer.

svandamme 08-08-2009 01:56 PM

Now these are 2 things i take very seriously, pig , and wodka.
I take em so seriously, that it's my opinion, that anyone who occupies himself with "bacon wodka", should in fact, be drowned in a barrel of wodka, and fed to the pigs.

IT'S NOT RIGHT.

My wife got this at the Euro deli today. Just over 2.5 lbs of goodness. Lightly fry & serve with fresh French bread & cold butter. Ummmmmmmmm . . .

Plain vodka on the side, please.

Ian

Ian, you better make that into a sandwich and eat it while driving to the ER for your coronary.

imcarthur 08-08-2009 03:46 PM

You would think so. But my out-laws are here for the weekend, so we had a mess of it for brunch. They are 87 & 80 year old Hungarians. They have been eating this & much, much worse - deep fried pork grease balls anyone? - their whole lives. We had pork ribs last night, this bacon for lunch & pork schnitzel for dinner. They are lovin' it.

Gotta die of something! Might as well be from bacon!

Really, you need to learn to cruise PP like I do, in Baconvision.

M.D. Holloway 08-08-2009 08:22 PM

my pleasure this month would be to wrap my Wife in bacon and lay with her in the biblical sense for an hour...

Joeaksa 08-08-2009 08:49 PM

Am sure that the cat or dog would like to join in licking....

Dave L 08-09-2009 06:23 AM

We really should be thinking about what we're teaching our kids.

It's like getting your arteries stuffed/blocked by professionals.
I eat bacon too, once in a while. (it's the only porc -meat I eat)
But I only eat the meat and cut off as much fat as possible.

Those kids need the right shoes to go with that flavorful, smoky look. Try these http://inventorspot.com/articles/sizzling_customizable_bacon_shoe_keds_30957

Actually, I was shocked at how low cal/not deadly fat cooked bacon is-nitrates aside. So much of the evil stuff is rendered in cooking, its not really all that evil. However, my homemade pork belly or pancetta probably will kill ya quick, but you'll be happy.

I just drink enough red wine to counteract the evil stuff.

Lard has less than half the cholesterol of Butter.

Joeaksa 08-09-2009 04:28 PM

The "heart attack grill" in Phoenix has fries cooked in lard. Very tasty.

"Bacon mania refers to passionate bacon enthusiasm in the United States and Canada, and has also been described using the phrase Bacon Nation."

Could be, however if you eat four times as much lard, you'll have doubled the cholesterol of butter.... :D

It's how much you eat of it, is what I want to say.

Look at my location.... Can you blame me for being a bit less American then most of you guys?...;)
I do eat bacon but I just don't think it fits well in my otherwise fairly healthy lifestyle, thats all.
