My apologies for poor spelling and such in advance.
My wife had thyroid cancer 20 years ago. She had her thyroid removed and was given fairly large doses of radioactive iodine. That seemed to take care of it. Fast forward 20 years, and she just had a follow up scan and they found a few hot spots. She's going for a CT scan this afternoon. After this, we plan to get second opinions on her treatment and need a recommendation for an endocrinologist in the LA area. If anyone has a recommendation or referral, I'd appreciate it. Please PM me. For those that know me in person, I would really appreciate it if you kept this quiet for now. We know you are there and that you support us. We just need to focus right now. I know posting on the internet is a bad way to broadcast these things, but I need to cast a wide net. Thanks in advance.

This guy is not in LA, but he is a thyroid expert and he helped me when I needed it.
http://www.uchsc.edu/sm/endo/ridgway.php I had my thyroid removed a few years ago and needed a second opinion. I was absolutely blown away at the amount of time this doc and his staff spent on my case. If you can't swing visiting a doc outside of LA, I'd recommend going to a research hospital like the one above (UCLA?). In my limited experience, the research hospital spent 3x the time than a "regular" doc going over ALL the options. Best of luck, Martin
