And then they all stop *****ing, and moaning, and shouting at each other for a moment, and proudly display pics of their kids, families, and pets, until one of them posts that his / her beloved pet has passed. Then we ALL take a day or two to relive our pet stories in order to show the person that lost the pet how great they are for giving that pet a good life, with great friends. And then most of us realise that that's the most important thing of all.

Then we look at all the Pelicans that have irked us at times, and realise that most of us do in fact have a great life, and we can actually call our Pelican buddies great friends. And somehow we know that if called upon, even those that have irked us, will probably be there for us at one time or another.
