Nice gun and nice holes. That gun was only $500? Wow.

The P7's barrel is fixed to the frame, right?

I have a theory, which admittedly is based on nothing, that guns with fixed barrels tend to be more accurate than guns with floating barrels.

Now I've got a goal to shoot for (really, I didn't intend that pun).

Yes, it is a fixed barrel. Many subscribe to your theory. The other reason the P7 is so accurate is because of it's polygonal rifling and the resulting increased muzzle velocity. I've read (many times) that a P7 can have on average 100fps more velocity with any given load vs a standard rifled barrel.

PS: These police trade in HK's are completely refurbished internally before they're released to the civvie market, so they really are an absolutely killer deal. They're heavy for their size/capacity (all steel ), and the PSP's have a heel mag release, but MAN are they accurate and extremely compact in dimensions considering their accuracy potential.

No surprise to me. I borrowed and shot my Dad's Sig P239 (.40 S&W) last night and was thoroughly impressed with the accuracy. While it did not quite match my P7 for accuracy it came damn close. VERY nice pistol.

Shooting that P239 had me literally scratching my head and wondering why anyone would ever want a Glock when they could have a Sig instead for about the same money. Go figure.

PS: Great shooting Rick.

Thanks. BTW, I absolutely stole my P239 for $475 delivered. Came with new night sights and had about 300 rounds down the pipe. As it's my main CCW gun, I had Robar redo it in NP3. It's often in the small of my back and gets pretty sweaty.

I like the factory finish on a Sig with NP3'd control levers. My cousin had a 228 like that, it was absolutely beautiful. If Sig would make a more lefty friendly pistol i would be a customer for life.

I once had a back and forth with a Sig rep at the NRA show in Philly many years ago where i tried to convince him they needed to add ambi controls to their pistols. He refused to even consider that their line of pistols was not perfect as is. Sigh...

Oh well, guess i'll have to "settle" on my P7 instead.

I needed a masterfully executed high performance German sidearm to go with my masterfully
executed high performance German car.

Who says men don't accessorize?
