Gah!! My Fridge just died....
My fridge just died. It's old and not likely worth fixing. The freezer is still working, but no cold air is getting to the fridge section.
Anyone know an appliance guy in West LA? Better yet, anyone have an old fridge they don't want/need? I really didn't need this right now. Thanks for letting me vent. /vent off

It's probably the fan - a $10 part. Your challenge is the appliance parts stores are all closing.
In college I put a small muffin fan into the freezer to blow air into the fridge duct until the part I ordered came in. You could pick one up at any electronics store now.

I wouldn't be surprised. But it's an ancient fridge and I am not sure I'll be able to get parts.
Same thing happened to my dryer last month. Motor died. Easy to swap, but the damn motor was almost $200. Pointless to fix at that point.

The freezer and fridge use the same cooling element right? Maybe a duct is clogged or something.....pull it away from the wall and have a look....it could be something simple....

Look for a "scratch and dent" place. Bought mine at a Sears scratch and dent outlet years ago and its been excellent (knock on wood!) for over 12 years.
Cost was a good 30% over normal and lots cheaper than anything I found on sale at the time.

I did. Nothing obvious, at least at this point. I will likely take another look tomorrow.

Sounds like it is on the way to being re bar or a new Korean car!
When a fridge has developed a slow leak or has lost the ability to compress refrigerant properly, the freezer is always the last thing that will stay cool... (not cold). +1 on looking for a scratch and dent, as long as it works!

The freezer is freezing. No issue there. I have read that these auto-defrost units sometimes malfunction and the system thinks it's still in defrost mode.
Checking into that now.

Check this place.
I've ordered parts from them a few times for fridge, dryer, stove top. They have good prices and are even helpful troubleshooting to make sure you get the part you need. There's not really that much to a fridge. They're pretty simple.

Perry scored a TD in the 85 superbowl that should have been Payton's. I will never forget that.
And no, wasn't about him. Last time I saw a news piece on him, he was over 400lbs!!
